Shabbat Box

Mommy asked Emma if she wanted to write in the Shabbat journal for Hebrew School. It comes home every few months for each kid as it rotates though the students.

Emma noted that she already did it. By herself. Nervously, Mommy looked and found these words.

Emma wrote The Yin- aka wine. Hla- challah. Cados- candles.

Mommy couldn't understand the next page. Until she realized that Emma started to write out the blessing - Br ht idny...

Cupcake Class

Clara and Emma went to a cupcake class at Chef Central with their babysitter. They loved making cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day.

Emma's Playdate Design

Personality shines through on this piece of art Emma came home with on Wednesday.

She designed a Playdate with two of her classmates coming over on Friday.

The backwards math, how she wrote "Emma's bedroom," and itatch aka I touch really are awesome.

Clara's Pajama Day

Clara's class won a pajama day for the half day because they have been behaving well. She couldn't wait to get dressed for school.

LES Fun

It was a warm day in the 50s- kind of random considering the snow storm on Friday!

The afternoon started with some yummy pizza down on the lower east side. The great thing about NYC is that you can go almost anywhere and have a great meal!

Then it was off to Streits Matzah- where a free concert was being held. It was incredibly loud. Emma did not like it and Clara got up on stage. After a few minutes, it was enough and the gang the Malat crew decided to enjoy the area and come back for the matzah factory tour.

It was a highlight of what's to eat downtown! The pickle place was a huge hit. It turns out the make horseradish only during this time of year. The kids were mesmerized. And the all could not wait for their pickles!

Next it was off to Kossar's bialys- an old school place. Next door was doughnut plant- so that was a stop.

Then back to the matzah factory for the tour which had matzah at the end.

Finally a stop in Economy Candy, a very cool candy store with every kind of treat!

Yep, the kids slept on the way home!
