This (short) week in the threes Sept. 27, 2010
So many holidays to celebrate and enjoy!
We decorated pretend Torahs which we carried in the Torah parade this morning with the Rabbi, Jackie and the 4-year-ols class in honor of Simchat Torah on Friday. We looked at a real Torah being unwrapped like a present and rolled open. We looked at the words, stories and songs in Hebrew inside the Torah, then we rolled it back up and dressed it again. We even put special silver "jewelry" on the outside! The Torahs were so beautiful! We learned that on Simchat Torah, we finish reading the last portion of the Torah, and then we are so happy because we get to begin all over again!
The children are expanding the number of friends they play with and the areas in which they play each day, making new discoveries all the time. It is so exciting to watch them expand their horizons!
Jackie taught us a Sukkot song during her daily visits with us to share the lulav and etrog and the chance to touch, smell and shake them. Ask your child if they remember. The song is "Hashem is Everywhere".
Thanks to the moms and the PTA who gave us a lovely sukkah party today. It was so much fun, and yummy!
Have a nice weekend and a wonderful holiday and Shabbat! We are looking forward to a full and bust week starting Monday.
