Here is this week's update. Mommy (and Clara and Emma) are all grateful that this is the last short week at school and look forward to a full five day week!

So many holidays to celebrate and enjoy!

We decorated pretend Torahs which we carried in the Torah parade this morning with the Rabbi, Jackie and the 4-year-ols class in honor of Simchat Torah on Friday. We looked at a real Torah being unwrapped like a present and rolled open. We looked at the words, stories and songs in Hebrew inside the Torah, then we rolled it back up and dressed it again. We even put special silver "jewelry" on the outside! The Torahs were so beautiful! We learned that on Simchat Torah, we finish reading the last portion of the Torah, and then we are so happy because we get to begin all over again!

The children are expanding the number of friends they play with and the areas in which they play each day, making new discoveries all the time. It is so exciting to watch them expand their horizons!

Jackie taught us a Sukkot song during her daily visits with us to share the lulav and etrog and the chance to touch, smell and shake them. Ask your child if they remember. The song is "Hashem is Everywhere".

Thanks to the moms and the PTA who gave us a lovely sukkah party today. It was so much fun, and yummy!

Have a nice weekend and a wonderful holiday and Shabbat! We are looking forward to a full and bust week starting Monday.

Activities Around Town

What a busy weekend!

Saturday featured a visit to the Touch a Truck event in Bronxville. Clara and Emma enjoyed checking out all the different trucks. Clara's favorite was the milk truck because she got chocolate milk and Emma loved the police car and kept going in the back and then the front. Clara got her nails down and Emma went in the bouncy castle too.

The ladies took a really long nap! Mommy went to get good friend Lisa at the train station and she came to visit Clara and Emma. She got them some really cool books and read them with the ladies. Mommy got to take Lisa to Half Moon in Dobbs- thanks, Daddy for watching the ladies. It was one of those late September warm days so it was a great nite to be outside for the sunset.

Today,  Mommy gave Clara (and Emma) some new socks- knee highs. Clara always pulls her rainbow socks up high to her knee and gets upset that they slip down, since afterall, they are regular socks. So, Mommy found her rainbow socks and she couldn't wait to show them off! Clara and Emma went to a first birthday party for Ethan at the park. It was an overcast and cooler day, but perfect early fall day to be outside. Clara and Emma loved the playground, making bracelets with little bells, eating pickles and then the music- Clara cried at the end because they sang the "Goodbye song" and Clara thought the party was over and didn't want to leave. And, then the ice cream truck came and all the kids got to order a treat (and parents too). Clara and Emma both got Dora ice cream and were very excited.

A good nap again - and a poop from Emma (yay) -and then headed to Ardsley Day to check it out. It was a great event in the village and fun to see some many people! A short time later, the gang headed to Pleasantville and Kids U for Jake's 4th birthday party. The kids loved the climbing structure and had a great time. It was so nice to see friends today as the gang has been out of touch recently due to everything going on.

What a day!

Great Article on TRPG

In between all the chaos of this week, Mommy gave an interview to the local Patch.

Friday was another day off of school, so Mommy had a playdate scheduled for the ladies at Station Park in Irvington in the morning, followed by a trip to Costco. In the afternoon, it was off to Sedutto to enjoy some fro yo on a beautiful day!

Apple Picking!

The day started with an early wake up and princess dress up. Emma carried what she called "twins" today- one insider her dress and one in a stroller. Then, it was off to Silverman's Farm in Easton, CT, about a 45 minute drive from the house to meet Naomi and her twin boys, Eitan and Micah for a farm visit and of course, apple picking.

Emma even tried feeding the goats on her own and tried calling for the sheep to come to her so she could feed them "sheep, sheep, come here." The kids loved the tractors with the slides. The gang took a tractor ride up the hill to the orchard and picked some apples. Clara started off right away with picking and apple and tasting it. She kept saying "mmmm, juicy." Clara probably tried at least 10 apples- she'd pick them, try it and put it in the bag. Good thing that the lady at the front said "feel free to try and then fill up your bag as much as you can."

After a car nap and a quick snack at home, it was off to WCEED for their various therapies.

And, in really really really great news, Emma pooped on the potty tonite - this is fantastic because not only did she poop, but she did it on the potty. So even though it took 4 days, here's to hoping a corner has been turned!
