Clara and the Exersaucer

Mommy went to the gym this afternoon and came home to hear that Clara had learned how to press the buttons on the exersaucer. Daddy caught it on video and as you can see, Clara is very excited!

Another Saturday with Daddy

These long weekends are special for everyone. Daddy really enjoys playing with Clara and Emma!

Aunt Lisa's Visit and Emma's Sheidel

Friday was a very busy day. Aunt Alyssa came over to help Mommy feed Clara and Emma.

Aunt Alyssa even noticed the hair growth for both girls. Clara woke up from her nap with a spikey hairdo.

For lunch, Mommy and Aunt Alyssa took Clara and Emma to Fetch to meet Michal and Avi Marcus for lunch. Clara and Emma took their afternoon nap and didnt really get to say hello!

In the early evening, Aunt Lisa came by to say hi and brought some cool gifts (thanks!). We noticed that Emma looked like she was frum when we tried to pull the onesie over her head.

Emma Rolls Over!

It is very exciting... Emma learned to roll over. She can go from her tummy to her back. We guess it is because she doesn't enjoy tummy time. Mommy caught the second time on video and even got some pictures. Of course, Clara cheered Emma on!

Good Morning Clara!

Hanging out on the Gymini

Today, Daddy went back to work and Annie had the day off. Mommy took Clara and Emma for a walk and to lunch with Aunt Jen. Then, we won $50 in the lottery ticket that Mommy and Daddy got from Kerry for the holidays, so Mommy went to get our money! Thanks, Kerry! Clara and Emma came home and played. Here are some very cute pics. A special thanks to Diane for our cute outfits!

Who me??

Clara wants to know why she can't roll over??
Emma enjoys lounging on Clara

Christmas at Uncle Ilan and Aunt Sara

Clara and Emma got in the holiday spirit and joined Uncle Ilan, Aunt Sara, Matthew, Andrew and Kayla for Christmas. It was fun to visit Long Island and be with the family!

Clara, the Steamroller

Yesterday, while Mommy was at physical therapy for her hip, Clara kep rolling over from her back to her tummy multiple times during her nap. Daddy kept rolling her back because she complained. At first, it was funny, but Mommy and Daddy just wanted Clara to nap.

This morning, Clara cried when she rolled to her tummy and every single time Mommy rolled her back, she just rolled right on to her tummy. When Mommy left the room, she peeked through the door and noticed that Clara figured out how to go from her tummy to her back (YAY!). Except, Clara didn't stop and kept rolling...

Emma is Part of the Band

Emma didn't want to be left out, so she also has been sticking her tounge out...

KISS

Like the band, Clara spent the day smiling and sticking her tounge out. Mommy and Daddy have no idea where she picked this up.

Hanging with Daddy

Last night, Clara joined Daddy for some cuddle time.

Today, Emma helped Daddy read the paper.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Mommy sang the song about 100 times to keep the girls smiling while they waited for their bottles.

Hanging Out

Emma giving Daddy a massage.

Clara and Emma are also working on tummy time. It is not one of their favorite activities, but they seem to tolerate it more on the Boppy pillow.

Mommy also introduced Clara and Emma to Sesame Street. Okay, it was just for a minute... but it was fun!

Clara and Emma Play Together

Clara and Emma regularly play together on their Gymini and seem to enjoy sucking their hands.

Today's Doctor Visit

Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma out to the doctor today for a our well visit. Clara weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz and Emma 12 lbs 4 oz. They are both about 24 inches now. Both girls had to get two shots today and were real troopers.

Dr. Cohen couldnt have been happier with their growth and achievements!! Mommy even shared how Clara rolled over and was told it was probably a fluke. I assured her that Clara has done it a number of times. In fact, Clara took a nap today and when Mommy went to check on her because she was crying, she had rolled on to her tummy!

We've Got Hair and Visiting with Aunt Alyssa

Mommy and Daddy have noticed significant growth of hair for both Clara and Emma this week. They each have lovely peach fuzz that can be messed up and need smoothing out! Mommy can't wait to buy hair supplies for the ladies!

Aunt Alyssa also came to help Mommy feed us and put us to bed because Daddy had a business dinner. Aunt Alyssa enjoyed playing with Emma and making her laugh.

Clara and Emma & Their New Toys

On Sunday, Clara and Emma experienced the Exersaucer for the first time.

Also, Daddy put the shoes Grandma Gornstein got from Argentina on Clara and Emma. Both seem to like wearing them!

They also like their Bumbo seats and sitting up!

Clara and Emma also enjoy playing together in their crib, almost in the same positions as they did when they were in Mommy's tummy.

Clara and Emma also like playing on the couch (with supervision)

Clara Enjoying Tummy Time

Now that Clara has learned to roll over, she enjoys tummy time much more.

Emma Laughing

Emma has started to laugh. We all know she smiles quite a bit, but the laugh is very special too.

Clara and Emma Enjoy Playing Together

Clara and Emma enjoy playing together on their gymini. In fact, several times this week, we've found them grabbing each other's hands and sucking on them. Check this out...

Sleeping Through the Night

Mommy thinks it is okay to write this down, because it has been fairly consistent. The girls are sleeping through the night! It all started during the trip to Maryland. It happened for two nights, on November 20 and 21. Both Mommy and Daddy woke up every hour waiting for a peep, but nothing... Of course, it didn't stay like that for long and we went back to 1-2 wakings per night, depending on which child.

However, back in NYC, Clara has slept though the night for almost two weeks. She loves sleeping in the crib (she had been in the bouncy seat because of the reflux) and has found herself a corner in the crib, where she sleeps on her side with a finger in her mouth.

Emma wakes up once a night, but isnt hungry, she just wants to play. Mommy is trying to work with her to help her understand that it is nighttime. For now, she spends half the night in the crib and the other half in the bouncy seat.

But, they go to bed after their last feeding, which is usually between 530 and 630 and sleep until 530-630. Not so bad for 4 1/2 months!!

Another Big Twin Play Date

Mommy took Clara and Emma in the new stroller and walked to 72nd Street to visit with Isabel and Henry (and their Mommy, Stephanie) and Benjamin and Madeline (and their Mommy, Mindy). Aren't we all cute?

Clara Rolls Over!

Okay, so babies are to roll from stomach to back first. Not Clara, she chose the harder way. Going from back to front. Mommy was suprised when she went to get Clara from her nap and she was on her tummy. Mommy rolled her back and she thought it would be fun to show off and roll again. Of course, Mommy got VERY excited and called Daddy, both Grandma Frome and Grandma Gornstein and Aunt Alyssa. Here is a video from the special moment.

The Gornstein Family Hanukkah Party

On Sunday, we gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein's home in Staten Island. Grandma made LOTS of food. Clara and Emma wanted to try the latkes and jelly donuts, but Mommy said next year. Clara and Emma wore special onesies for the occassion and ate with their Hanukkah bibs, courtesy of Cousins Laura and Sid.

Clara and Emma joined their cousins, Matthew, Andrew and Kayla to light the menorah and open presents. It was special to celebrate with Susie, Maurice, Scott and Uncle Ilan and Aunt Sara too.
