After school today, where the last week started with their cubbies full of things to take home, the kids had Enopi- and Emma stated to Mommy, "the teacher has nice accessories."
Clara and Emma, dressed in bathing suits, decided to play baseball in the sloped driveway. For a few minutes, Emma happily threw the ball (with a mitt on) and Clara tried to hit. When Clara missed, Emma would say "good job, Clara! or nice try!" Clara, of course, wore a tiara.
The ladies enjoyed a little pool time at Maplewood in Hartsdale for a TRPG event with Mommy and Chelsea. They loved being on the floats in the kiddie pool but Clara decided she didn't like her suit and made Emma switch with her.

Memorial Day 2011
The gang headed down to the parade, which wasn't because it was cancelled due to "inclement weather" aka the early morning rain. Of course, by 10 am it was sunny and humid. But, the Gornstein gang and neighbors walked to the fire house and attended the Memorial Day ceremony.
For lunch, it was off to the pool where the ladies enjoyed the adults pool (after begging)- which meant Mommy and Daddy had to go in and it was cold! They loved the playground and enjoyed hanging out. By 3:45 they were wiped and it was time to go. After a bath, they fell asleep on the couch before dinner. In this unscientific experiment, pool= tired ladies!!
It was a great long weekend and it is going to be a busy week- it is the last week of school!

Bike Riding!
It is amazing that a week ago is was 50 degrees and felt like fall and today, it truly felt like summer. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day.
Clara and Emma rode their bikes for the first time this season with Mommy and Daddy. What a difference a year makes! They both were able to pedal themselves- awesome.
At 12, the gang headed to Ardsley Swim and Tennis. This is the first year since moving that Mommy and Daddy decided it was time to join a pool. The kids had a blast- they loved being in the pool, playing on the playground, eating lunch and having ices too. It was so much fun, they fell asleep before getting home- and it is less than a 5 minute drive! The gang missed the bbq that was scheduled and chilled out at the house.

BBQ
Friends came to the house for the annual Memorial Day BBQ. Over the years, the only thing that has changed is the addition of kids.
It is always fun to see everyone's kids grow together and interact. Last year, Mommy and Daddy could barely sit, while this year, they were happy playing with the kids on their own at the water table, in the sand box and on the swingset.
Daddy made amazing food and everyone enjoyed a great afternoon.

First Swim!
Clara and Emma couldn't wait for a playdate with their friend Hayden. Because it was especially warm, and their pool was opening that day, the kids enjoyed a pool playdate.
Yes, Clara and Emma need swim lessons and that is on the agenda for the summer, but they managed. Clara took a noodle and kicked around on it and was so excited. Emma took a little more time but did finally get comfortable in the water.
Afterwards, they napped in the car (the amount of money that is being spent on air conditioning while they nap is insane!!).
Daddy got home early and took the kids to pizza for dinner while Mommy went out.
A great start to the weekend!

Nursery School Update
This week in the 3's May 27, 2011
We had one of our busiest weeks yet, with 5 birthday parties (our summer birthday children each got to have a party), Shabbat where the children were treated to a story read in both English and Hebrew by Eitan's mom Sarah, and finally, good enough weather to play outdoors! We have been busy with spring projects, many different art projects depicting butterflies, more color mixing to create dropper prints and those caterpillars they brought home earlier this week. We made fingerprint bees on beehives to go along with one of our songs for moving up day, read stories about spring and generally had a boisterous and fun week.As we reach the end of this school year it is amazing to see the friendships that have formed among the children and the growth and development both physically and emotionally that has occurred in this group. You gave us a great group of children and we hope that you are as pleased with their progress and self-confidence as we are.We look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday at the moving up ceremony and sharing some of the children's favorite songs with you.Nancy, Gina and Lauren

Irvington Farmers Market Wednesday Returns!
A favorite Gornstein girl activity is dropping by the Wedesday afternoon market in Irvington. Of course, it was a warm day and after the TRPG playground crawl, the gang headed over to the market. It is always fun to see friends and of course, eat a pickle on a stick!

The Pretend Birthday
It was finally a beautiful, warm day! Clara and Emma celebrated their pretend birthday at school today. It was great of their teachers to give all the summer birthdays special celebrations too.
Mommy came and got to watch all the kids in the class come up and put a candle on their paper and wish them a happy birthday. After yummy ice cream sandwiches, Mommy read Caps for Sale, Madeline and Purplicious.
