Dr. Visit, Ballons and Bubbles

Today, Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma to the doctor. Clara is 16 pounds, 11 oz and Emma is 15 lbs 5 oz at one week short of 7 months. The girls had to get two shots and weren't very happy about it. Mommy and Annie had lunch at Big Daddy's Diner and got the girls a balloon. Emma and Clara saw a balloon when they visited their friend Ryan and Mommy thought they might like one again. Mommy has been wanting to get the girls bubbles and was glad she remembered today.

Apples, Fred the Puppy, and Bathtime

This morning, the girls woke up after a full night of sleep with little colds. You can see their tired little faces with red cheeks in the picture below. They also tried apples for the first time and enjoyed them! Emma seems to still enjoy playing with Daddy's pants and laughs when he stands over her. Mommy took the girls out in the afternoon and got a new toy puppy for the girls to crawl after. They both seemed to enjoy eating his tail...The day ended with
nice baths for everyone, where both girls showed their styles. Clara enjoyed sitting up nicely and Emma wanted to lounge.

Gornstein Girls Get Sick, Bananas and Emma Scoots

You may be wondering where we've been for the past few days... well, unfortunately, Mommy got a stomach bug on Wednesday night and Thursday, ended up in the ER for fluids and anti nausea meds. Aunt Alyssa was great and came with Mommy so Daddy could watch Emma and Clara. Emma also wasn't feeling great and had a runny nose. Clara has had a bit of a cough, but it hasn't stopped her!

Before all this, everyone was having lots of fun. On Wednesday afternoon, Stacey and her twins, James and Claire, from the building, came over to play. A few hours later, things got crazy and it was a good thing Annie came on Thursday to help Mommy. Despite all of this, the girls had bananas for the first time on Thursday and seemed to like it. Daddy did a great job feeding the girls by himself.

Mommy and Daddy were wondering why Emma kept putting her leg out when going into the frog position. Well, this morning, Mommy figured it out as she watched Emma go from the "frog" position on all fours to sitting. Also, Emma has started to scoot. Check out the video. Mommy has been putting toys out of reach and enjoying watching Emma go and get them herself!

Pool Fun!

Today was a very busy day! Mommy took Clara and Emma to Hi Life to meet Monica and Deborah for Tuesday lunch. Afterwards, we meet Jen and did some returns and headed home. Since Clara and Emma refused to nap, Mommy thought it would be fun to try the pool upstairs. It would be a great opportunity to also model the new bathing suits Mommy got us this week!

Clara went first and seemed to like the water and kept looing around and observing, a very Clara thing to do. Emma came in next and seemed to enjoy it at first, but then got a little scared. For the first time in the pool, they both did very well!

Island Girls and Swings

This morning, the girls dined on mango and for the first time, papaya. Our gourmet ladies enjoyed their meal and Mommy and Daddy believe they would enjoy living on the islands where the tropical fruits are enjoyed and always in season. Mommy has enjoyed making the baby food. It is very easy!

It was a warm day in the city, so Mommy and Annie took the girls to the park and decided to try the swings for the first time. Suprisingly, it wasn't Emma's favorite activity. She seemed scared. Clara, however, loved it!

Seeing Family from Argentina

Friday, Mommy took Clara and Emma on a long walk around the Upper East Side. In the late afternoon, Mommy met up with Stephanie and her twins, Isabel and Henry and took a walk to the park. It was very nice out. For the solid feeding at 5 pm, Mommy gave Clara and Emma sweet potatoes and oatmeal The girls had too much fun as they dipped their hands in the bowl and painted each other with the sweet potato. It was a good thing it was bath niAdd Imageght!

Saturday, Daddy had to go to work. At 4, Grandpa and Grandpa Gornstein came over before everyone went to dinner at Nick's. Many of you wonder how Clara and Emma are fed their solids. Below is a bird's eye view from Grandpa Gornstein's camera. When Daddy isn't there, Mommy uses one bowl and spoon and there is a bigger mess. At dinner, Uncle Ilan, cousins Matthew and Andrew joined as Damian, Gaby and Lucas visited from Argentina. The girls behaved very well. Clara and Emma both took turns playing with Uncle Ilan and Andrew's spiderman. They also enjoyed drinking water out of a real glass. Mommy still can't figure out why they wanted the water from the glass when everytime she gives it to them in sippy cups, they make faces at the taste! Emma also showed her early interest in beer...

Sweet Potatoes

As you can see, sweet potatoes were a huge hit this morning. Clara too right to them and Emma made a few faces and then wanted more. This was by far, the messiest food we've tried! It was also tons of fun.

Mango Fun, Emma Tries to Crawl and Valentine's Day

On Tuesday morning, the girls enjoyed mangos. Yummy! Both girls made faces but have each seemed to enjoy them mixed in with their oatmeal.

Tuesday also brought more of Emma pulling herself to her knees. Check out the video.. yes, Mommy actually caught her moving her tush!

This picture, from Valentine's Day morning, shows both Clara and Emma showing Mommy that they don't need their morning nap.

Clara shows off her efforts to try and move. Mommy and Daddy thinks she looks like a penguin.

Oatmeal, Pears, Avocados, Oh My!

It has been a very busy February so far!

First, a solid food update. As many of you know, Mommy really didn't understand this solid food thing and didn't know how it was going to fit in or where to start. Thanks to lots of mommy friends and books, Clara and Emma have made it through one week on solids and tried oatmeal, pears and avocados.

After three days of oatmeal, Clara and Emma enjoyed pears. Mommy served them Earth's Best for the first feeding and then decided that it was time to try and make it and has done so since. The girls continue to get two solid feedings a day- one in the morning and one at 5 pm. Mommy continues to play with the timing of the morning feeding. For the first oatmeal feedings, it had been at 1030, but that wasnt a good time. Mommy then tried 8, but sometimes the girls are cranky. Now, we are eating solids after the morning bottle. Here are some pictures from the past few days.

Emma with pears all over her face. Followed by Emma and Clara enjoying avocados.

On Thursday, Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma to visit Charlie and Ella and their Mommy, Lisa. Clara was a bit cranky, but Emma enjoyed playing with their puppy and kissed her, jumping in their jumperoo and watching Charlie move back and forth on his knees.

On Friday, Mommy took Clara and Emma to visit with Henry and Isabel and their Mommy, Stephanie. New friends, Henry and George and their Mommy, Elisabeth came too. Monica came also, but without Matthew and Lauren because they were sick. Feel better soon. Clara wasn't herself and spent time in the swing or being held by Mommy. Emma showed off her new skill of pushing up to her knees and rolling everywhere!

On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came to help Mommy while Daddy started his "busy season" with working on Saturdays. Before Daddy left, he helped Mommy give Clara and Emma avocado for the first time.

"Wrestlemania" with Daddy

On Sunday, the Gornstein Gang headed to visit the Bermans in NJ. It was super fun! Emma tried Ryan's highchair and enjoyed sitting it while everyone ate lunch. She ate her taggie.

Today, Mommy and Annie took the girls to the doctor for their RSV shot. Emma (left) weighed in at 14 lbs, 13 oz and Clara weighed in at 15 lbs, 12 oz. They are thriving! In the afternoon, the girls played together and practiced sitting on their own. Late in the day, Clara pushed up to her knees.
