The Twinkies Wish Everyone a Happy Halloween

With special thanks to fellow twin mama, Rebecca Rikon for the idea, Clara and Emma debuted in their first official Halloween costume as twinkies. Also, a special thanks to Grandma Frome and Aunt Christina for their ideas and help with costume design. Finally, thanks to Grandma Gornstein for the Halloween bibs- worn at all meals today.

Mommy walked Clara and Emma to Jennifer's house for a party and Grandma and Grandpa Frome came too. It was fun. Mommy walked the ladies back through town and got to see all the kids out in their costumes for the village celebration.

15 Months Dr. Appt

This morning, Emma put two words together and said "bye bye da da." Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa all heard her.

Clara enjoyed getting into the newspapers and magazines again and riding her Elmo car. Emma is also able to get on and off the Elmo car now. Clara even pushed Emma on the car- it was very cute. Their legs aren't long enough yet to "drive" the car around by themselves, but soon enough, they'll be there!

Mommy put the ladies down for a nap at 9 so that they would get a nap before going to the dr. at 10:30. Grandma came with Mommy and even bumped into Sharon Forman- so fun!

At 15 months, Clara and Emma both measure 29 1/4. Clara weighs 20 lbs 10 oz and Emma is 19 lbs 13 oz. Dr. Rockland is pleased with their development. Dr. Rockland says some kids are like Clara and Emma and don't love milk, but that they really do need the calcium and Mommy and Daddy need to make sure to give it to them.

She did say we should start the early intervention process for Emma, but by the time they get to her (in about a month), she will probably be walking. She said Emma's verbal ability is that of a child 18 months +, so that probably explains the late walking.

They got two shots- flu and chicken pox. They were stars as usual. After a drive to show Grandma the area, Clara and Emma enjoyed some bread, cheese and a banana for lunch, followed by a quick visit from Cousin Lani. Clara and Emma enjoyed playing with their new toy- a combination xylophone/piano.

Showing Off for Grandma and Grandpa Frome

On Thursday, Clara and Emma enjoyed breakfast with Daddy and then found Grandma's purse. Clara and Emma both tried her sunglasses on and were very pleased with themselves. After hanging out in the family room with their toys and a little bit of Elmo, Clara and Emma played with Grandma and Grandpa in the play area.

Emma and Clara seem to have figured out that the turtle is a puppet and enjoy putting their hands inside like Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy also heard Emma say "Abby" for "Abby Cadaby" and "Elmo" when she saw the characters on her straw cup as she drank her chocolate milk. Grandma and Grandpa Frome report that they heard her say "Emma" but Mommy and Daddy haven't heard that yet.

Clara seems to be a fruit only diet, as she only wanted pears for breakfast, strawberries for lunch and banana for dinner. Mommy, Daddy and Grandma snuck in a few bites of yogurt and peirogies, but overall, Clara is loving fruit this week.

New teeth are on the way officially for Emma. Emma's bottom incisors are finally coming in, which will soon give her a total of 8 teeth. Clara's "I" teeth are pushing through still and she has a total of 16 teeth. Mommy knows teething is uncomfortable for the little ladies, as Clara used her teeth to bite Emma again when she got frustrated that Emma had something she wanted. Emma was fine and Mommy explained to Clara that biting is not okay.

Welcome Back Grandma and Grandpa Frome!

It was fun to have Auntie Alyssa sleepover and come to the gym on Tuesday. After gym, since it was raining and cold, Mommy took everyone home to rest and wait for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive.

According to Grandma and Grandpa, Emma can now say "zipper." It seems both ladies were fascinated with the zipper for the mega block bag. Grandma and Grandpa report that they worked on putting things in and taking things out and opening and closing things during play.

Mommy's favorite Wednesday moment had to be when Mommy and Grandma suggested that Clara push Emma on the Elmo car. Clara took that literally and instead of pushing the car, pushed Emma!

Grandpa has been doing his share of singing- "Itsy Bitsy" and "Wind, Wind the Bobbin" are favorites. Emma and Clara know to put their hands together for the spider and Emma seems to know when the clapping part comes in "Wind, Wind the Bobbin.

Picasso? and Storytime at Barnes and Noble

This morning, Clara and Emma both showed Mommy how they can play peek-a-boo themselves- by covering their eyes. It was a nice morning, so Mommy walked Clara and Emma to school (n the stroller). Both Clara and Emma drew again and today, Clara tried painting. She couldn't get enough- she kept returning to the easel to work on her piece. Because Emma doesn't really stand without assistance, she didn't try today, but maybe next week! Emma enjoyed playing in the kitchen.

After a nap, Clara and Emma drove to White Plains with Mommy to pick up Auntie Alyssa and off to Target the ladies went! During the quick stop at Nordstrom Rack, Auntie Alyssa found out that there was storytime at 2 at the Barnes and Noble downstairs. Mommy had heard that it was one of the best around- and of course, it was! It was lots of fun and featured songs and stories (and kids all dressed up in their Halloween outfits).

Clara and Emma were pooped and napped on the way home and transferred to their cribs for a longer nap. They both enjoyed some chocolate milk before a quick outing to Stop and Shop- where it was fun to see Jennifer, Anabelle and her grandma (the Gornstein girlies love their impromptu Monday playdates at the market!). Auntie Alyssa took the large, plush Elmo doll around in the cart and entertained both Clara and Emma. Dinner featured bread and cheese again because Clara and Emma refused everything else. Emma liked using the word "cheese." During storytime, Auntie Alyssa read the "Good Night Elmo" book and Emma enjoyed saying "teeth" and brushing her teeth with Elmo's toothbrush. Clara enjoyed wandering around with her toothbrush- which reminds Mommy of Grandpa Frome.
