Sunday Fun

Another busy Sunday for Clara and Emma. Emma woke up and thought it was funny to stick her tongue out- and wouldn't stop. The little ladies enjoyed playing with Daddy in the morning and Emma showed Daddy how she can pull up to her knees. Clara seems to enjoy standing up with assistance and locks her legs so she doesn't have to sit down. Daddy "walked" with her and she loved it. Mommy and Daddy went to Westchester to try and find a place to live in May. Mommy and Daddy saw lots of places and are trying to pick the right one. Daddy found a new bakery though and has already enjoyed some treats! Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came to play. They reported that the girls were a hit at Pizzeria Uno and laughed and smiled all day. For dinner, Mommy prepared elbow macaroni and cut them into smaller pieces and put a bit of american cheese on it for a baby version of mac n' cheese. Emma seemed to be able to chew better than Clara, but both ate it. They even ate the green veggie mix Mommy put next to it.

Emma and the Green Ball, Diner Fun and Visiting Aunt Alyssa

The girls continue to teeth and today it seemed like Emma was in some teething pain. In addition to her two fingers which have been in her mouth for over a month, and biting Mommy yesterday, she tried to bite the new green ball... it is a bit too big for her to fit in her mouth, but she kept trying!

Look at Emma's teeth

Since Daddy works on Saturday, Mommy took the girls for a walk and to lunch with friends Andrea, Vikram and Rohan. The girls didn't want to nap and enjoyed sitting in highchairs at the table and eating puffs. After lunch, Mommy walked to meet Aunt Alyssa. Aunt Alyssa came to the apartment to play with Clara and Emma too! Clara and Emma both showed how much the like to crawl. Clara also seems to enjoy standing, being well-supported by Mommy. She is also playing the drum well and has learned how to hit it- she is a little Desi Arnaz! Emma likes to roll the drum around and try to put it in her mouth... she still likes sitting up but if she finds something she likes, like her socks, she will crawl over things to get to them.

Pretty in Pink, Bib Fight, Princess Lea and Teeth

Mommy thinks it is time to share that Clara is off of prevacid! It has been about a week since she has been completely off of it and she is doing great. Mommy started by giving her the medicine once every other day and then stopped. Emma is still taking it, but Mommy is trying to give her a lower dose of 15 mg instead of 30 mg, which she has been on since December.

Friday was a nice day for Clara and Emma. After playing with Yolanda in the morning, Mommy took the girls for a walk and to lunch with her at Timmy's. After playing around the house in the afternoon and practicing crawling, they enjoyed a short nap and dinner. They still love pulling bibs and always seem to grab at each other when they are in the Bumbo seats. People continue to ask Mommy if the girls are aware of each other. The answer is YES- they climb over each other, play with each other when they go down for naps, take toys from each other and always have a play date at home! The girls welcomed Daddy home and showed him their new favorite activity- pulling themselves up on the pink toy box to their knees and taking out toys. Mommy went out again (yep, two nights in a row), with her friends, Lauren and Donna.

Clara Goes Forward and Emma Crawls for Electronics

This morning, after a breakfast of peaches and oatmeal and a nap, the girls enjoyed playing around and practiced their crawling. Emma, who still prefers to sit up, crawled for the remote and phone (a girl after Daddy's heart) and Clara finally went forward! For lunch, they enjoyed soy yogurt and new food, pumpkin. They ate it all! In the afternoon, Mommy took the girls to the lobby to stroll as the ladies were a bit on the cranky side. As always, they smiled to everyone that greeted them and enjoyed being out and about.

Mommy enjoyed a fun night out with her mommy friends-Naomi, Carrie, Anita, Jill and Robin at Cafe Notte. Wine is always a good thing.

Ladies Lunch and Fun Outfits

Tuesday afternoon, Mommy took Clara and Emma to Hi Life for the weekly lunch with Deborah, Monica and Michelle. Clara and Emma didn't want to nap and instead preferred to sit at the table and be part of the group. They behaved very well and participated in the conversation and enjoyed their puffs, while everyone else had salad.

Today, Clara and Emma modeled new outfits from Aunt Alyssa. Check out what they say..In the afternoon, Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma on a long walk to enjoy the spring day with friend Judith and her daughters. They also enjoyed ground beef, zucchini and yellow squash today, in addition to some of their favorite foods of yogurt, applesauce and mango.

Lions, Fire Engines, and Baby Yoga

Clara and Emma have been busy trying playing together and trying new foods.

Friday, Mommy met up with twin mom friends, Naomi and Carrie and their boys and friend Robin (she has one cute son) for a long walk in Central Park. In the afternoon, Mommy took Clara and Emma to lunch with Aunt Alyssa.

On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came to visit and babysit while Mommy took pilates. On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy spent time at home with Clara and Emma and enjoyed a nice walk to Carl Shurz park- it was a nice, warm almost spring day!
.Clara is making sounds from her throat and smiling and sounds like a Lion and Emma, when she cries, sounds like a fire engine. On Monday, the girls tried edamame with their yogurt and had turkey for the first time at dinner. The gobbled :) it up! Mommy got a good picture of Clara in her favorite spot, underneath her crib. Mommy also was trying to get a video of Clara going backwards, but instead got one of her doing Baby Yoga. Check it out.

Happy Purim and Happy Spring

Clara and Emma didn't dress up and Mommy didn't get to make hamentachen this year, but she did eat one that Grandma and Grandpa Frome brought for her! Maybe next year!

It was a bit too cold to go out and the girls still had a bit of a runny nose, which Mommy and Daddy think is from teething. However, the new schedule seems to be working (thanks to Mommy's friend from high school and fellow twin mom, Laura. Clara and Emma get solids at 7 and a bottle at 8, followed by a long nap, 830 ish-10 ish. Yes, even Emma! At 11, they have another meal of solids followed by a bottle at 11:30, and another long nap. A 3 pm bottle is followed by 5 pm solids and a 6 pm bottle. It seems to be working well after 3 days, so Mommy wants to keep it up!

Teething and Eating Green Veggies

Today was a very rainy day in the city. Clara has a runny nose but is otherwise fine. Emma and Clara are truly teething and put everything in their mouths. Emma likes to go down for a nap and immediately sit up and look around while Clara continues to crawl backwards. Clara also seems to enjoy baby downward dog- she pushes back up on her tippy toes! Today was also the second day of three meals a day. Mommy feels like all she is doing is feeding Clara and Emma! The good news is Clara and Emma both ate pastina, chicken and drumroll.. super greens- spinach, green beans and peas. Yes, that is right, even Clara ate it!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The little ladies wore green to celebrate their first St. Patrick's Day and the 3rd anniversary of Mommy and Daddy's engagement. Both girls are teething and in pain. They also have runny noses, which is probably due to the teething. For dinner this evening, Clara and Emma enjoyed pastina with chicken and applesauce, all prepared by Mommy. They both seemed to enjoy it!

More New Foods, Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Frome and Teeth

Friday was a very busy day for Clara and Emma.Mommy gave Clara and Emma green beans in the morning. Clara seems to have an aversion to green veggies (like her Daddy) and Emma will just about eat anything! In the late morning, Mommy took them for a walk with Carrie and her twins, Matthew and Andrew, in Central Park. It was a lovely day and Mommy even took her coat off. After the walk, Mommy took Clara and Emma to the Friday playdate with Monica and her twins, Matthew and Lauren and Stephanie and her twins, Isabelle and Henry. It was so much fun to see everyone.

Grandma and Grandpa Frome arrived on Friday afternoon and came over to play with Clara and Emma. Grandma and Grandpa loved watching Clara and Emma eat their dinner. They were very hungry and ate all of the food in the bowl.

On Saturday, the girls enjoyed another meal of green beans. While Daddy worked, Mommy took Clara and Emma to storytime at Barnes and Noble with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Alyssa and her boyfriend, Michael. Grandma and Grandpa bought Clara and Emma some new books to read too and showed everyone how they can eat Gerber puffs! After storytime, everyone headed over to Mustang's for lunch. Clara didn't want to nap, so she sat with Mommy and ate some banana and avocado. After more playtime, Mommy and Daddy headed out to dinner while Grandma and Grandpa babysat!!

Sunday was another full day for Clara and Emma. For breakfast, Mommy and Daddy fed Clar and Emma raspberries for the first time, along with pears, prunes and oatmeal. Also, Clara learned how to sit up herself from the crawling position. She also is saying "da da" frequently. Mommy thinks it is funny that babies say these sounds first and is waiting for "ma ma." In other news, if the girls smile, you can see little white teeth (Clara has one that has started to come up and Emma has two). After their 11 am bottle, Mommy took Clara and Emma on a walk with Grandma and Grandpa and stopped at Taste for lunch. Aunt Alyssa came late, but it was nice to be together. Clara and Emma didn't want to nap, so Mommy put them in the highchairs for the first time at a restaurant. The girls were having teething pain so Mommy gave them a very hard piece of bread to bite on, which they seem to like. After running some errands, the girls came home and played with Grandma and Grandpa and Daddy. After a bath, everyone headed to Fetch for dinner. Mommy gave the girls solids (including white potatoes for the first time) in the highchairs, but they were more interested in looking around and seeing everything going on.

Wednesday Fun

Today, the girls enjoyed blueberries and pears with prunes and oatmeal and a bit of tofu for breakfast. After breakfast, the girls watched a little Sesame Street and played with Elmo and Big Bird. Just like Clara likes her toes, she ate Big Bird's toes too. In the late morning, they dined on cheerios. In the afternoon, Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma for another big twin playdate at Judith's apartment with her twins and with Lisa and her twins, Charlie and Ella.

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein, Mommy on TV, and Babysitting at the Gym

On Sunday, Clara and Emma visited Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein (with Mommy and Daddy) in Staten Island. It was a nice afternoon!

Monday, Clara and Emma dined on apricots. For a snack, Mommy and Annie gave the girls Gerber Puffs and they liked them! Since they are easily dissolvable, Mommy felt more comfortable trying these before cheerios. The girls went to the dr. for an RSV shot. Clara weighs 16 lbs 10 oz and Emma weighs 15 lbs 10 oz. After the dr. , we met friends Naomi and her sons, Micah and Eitan and Carrie and her sons, Matthew and Andrew. We walked to Central Park on a beautiful day! At the end of the walk, while sitting and chatting, a reporter from CW 11 approached Mommy to ask her what she thought about the new water pollution reports. Later that evening, Mommy was on the 10 o'clock news! Here is the link. http://video.cw11.com/global/video/popup/pop_player.asp?clipId1=2276587&at1=News&vt1=v&h1=Alarming+Report+Of+What

For dinner, Mommy gave Clara and Emma peas and carrots with oatmeal. Emma gobbled it up and Clara spit it out and made awful faces- she clearly doesn't like peas.

Today, Mommy took the girls to babysitting at the gym for the first time. She got a 30 min workout in! For lunch, Mommy took the girls to Hi Life to meet Deborah for the weekly twin mommy lunch. Clara and Emma took a nice, long nap! In the late afternoon, Clara and Emma visited with Stacey and Alex. During the evening feeding, a twin mom-to-be stopped by to learn about life with twins. Clara and Emma smiled and made sure to tell her all of the fun things she has to look forward to when her girls arrive!

Storytime and Fun with Aunt Alyssa

Today, while Daddy went to work, Aunt Alyssa came and met Mommy and Clara and Emma at Barnes & Noble for storytime and hear The Horton Hears a Who. Emma was funny as she crawled over to Aunt Alyssa's coffee and put her mouth on the straw. Emma thought she was ready for an iced coffee but Mommy told her not for many years! After storytime, Mommy and Aunt Alyssa went for lunch while the little ladies slept in the stroller. Check out Emma's hairdo after her nap!
