Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein

Friday night, Mommy went out with Jen, Lisa and Aunt Alyssa to celebrate Aunt Alyssa's 29th b'day.

Another fun weekend with grandparents. This time, Clara and Emma visited with Grandma and Grandpa Gorstein. They also brought the highchairs which will be used on for feeding the first solids on Saturday (stay tuned). Mommy and Daddy went to a nice lunch at DB Moderne. In the late afternoon, Suzy and Maurice came by to visit too.

During their visit, Clara and Emma were "flown" by Mommy, a new favorite activity. They also practiced sitting up and rolling in every which way.

Sunday, Clara and Emma took a ride with Mommy and Daddy to Buy Buy Baby. Everyone missed football and is looking forward to the Superbowl. Since Daddy is forbidding the girls from actually rooting for the Giants (we are JETS fans), Daddy said they could root for NY. Go NY!!

Busy Week and Another Dr. Appt

It's been a very busy week for Clara and Emma. On Tuesday, the girls recovered from their busy weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and Mommy went to lunch with her twin mommy friends, Deborah and Monica. On Tuesday evening, Mommy took Clara and Emma to the lobby for another impromptu play date with other kids (and moms) in the building. It seems to make "cranky time" go faster! Clara and Emma also called Grandpa Frome to wish him a happy birthday! Rumor has it that he is 36 years young!

On Wednesday, Mommy took Clara and Emma for a walk and met up with twin mommy friend, Stephanie. We had a nice lunch and came home just in time for our play date with Lisa and her twins, Charlie and Ella. In the late afternoon, our building friends, Stacey and Alex (10 mths), came over.

Thursday, we went to the pediatrician for a well-visit. Clara weighs 15 lbs and Emma is 14.1 lbs. While on the small side for babies that will be six months in a week, they are doing great given how small they were when the arrived! The girls received one shot (Dtap) and a drink vaccine. They were troopers, but were quite cranky for the remainder of the day. Daddy came home early from work and had more time with the ladies. Clara and Emma also called Aunt Alyssa to wish her a happy 29th birthday!

Today, Yolanda came to clean the house and Emma and Clara showed off their best smiles.

Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Frome

What a wonderful fun-filled weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Frome. Mommy took Clara and Emma on a very long walk around the UES on Friday and met Grandma and Grandpa as they arrived at the Gracie Inn. Clara and Emma checked out their duplex hotel room and ate (except Clara). In the evening, everyone headed back home and rested.

On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy went out with Grandma and Grandpa Frome and Aunt Alyssa to dinner at Sfoglia. Yummy. Aunt Jen and her mom, Bonnie, watched the girls.

Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa spent the day and watched the ladies while Mommy and Daddy joined Dan, Lauren and Donna at O'Flanagans for the first half of the Giants game.

Flying Clara! Clara loves being a superhero. Gornstein girls power, activate! Mommy has started to help Clara fly every night.
Mommy, Clara and her keys. This is another one of Clara's new favorite toys- her frozen keys.

Emma and Clara helping Daddy read the Sat paper. However, they were very excited and tore the Sports section. Daddy may need to buy two papers in the future.

Saturday morning smiles. As you can see, Emma likes her keys, but she enjoys licking them and Clara likes biting and sucking on them.Grandma and Grandpa Frome enjoy singing silly songs. Grandma Frome even boogied for the ladies and both Clara and Emma laughed at her... I mean with her!Grandpa Frome thought Clara might enjoy reading a book instead of Daddy's paper. It went her mouth, but everything does these days!On Sunday, Daddy found that Emma reached for the yellow lion on the mobile every single time it came around. Mommy and Daddy refer to the mobile characters as "Clara and Emma's public."
Grandma Frome pulled out Octi (the musical octopus) and Emma grabbed for it and wanted to hold and kiss him.
Baby, it is cold outside! Clara and Emma got bundled up for a walk with Grandma and Grandpa on Monday. Thanks to Aunt Christina, Uncle Adam and Lucas for the cute outfits.
Happy Birthday Grandpa Frome (one day early). Both girls thought that it was for them...

Playing Around

On Wednesday, Mommy and Annie took Clara and Emma to 86th street for a play date with new friends Matthew and Andrew (just like their first cousins) and their mommy, Carrie. Thursday, it was chilly out, so Mommy kept everyone home to rest up for the busy weekend. On Friday, the girls were excited for Grandma and Grandpa Frome to arrive and greeted them at their bed and breakfast on 81st and York. Clara skipped her bottle at 3 again and enjoyed blowing raspberries more than eating. At the apartment in the late afternoon, Clara and Emma showed off their new talents, especially rolling over in every direction.

This is Clara, the straphanger. Next stop, 93rd Street!
Clara and Emma enjoy playing together. Today, Annie held Emma up so she could play with some of the toys on the exersaucer. It was funny because when Emma went to a toy, Clara grabbed it.
Emma is learning to sit up too and is very proud of herself!
Clara and Emma like tummy time and are getting stronger everyday!

Tuesday Smiles

Emma still enjoys waking up early and rolling in her crib.

For lunch, Mommy took Clara and Emma to meet Deborah at Vynl for lunch. She didn't bring her twins, but it was fun. In the late afternoon, Clara and Emma were having cranky time, so Mommy went to the lobby and met up with the other set of twins in the building and Alex and his mom Stacey. It was a good way to spend the 5-6 pm hour!

Double Vision

Today, Annie and Mommy took Clara and Emma on a walk to meet up with Lynn and her twins, Samantha and Isabella. In the afternoon, Clara showed that she loves biting on toys on the exersaucer. Mommy is convinced she is teething.

A Quiet Weekend in the City

On Friday, it was rainy and our play date was postponed. Mommy took Clara and Emma to lunch and made it back in time to miss the downpour. Both girls slept in the stroller for over 2 hours. Clara woke up and wanted to greet people coming inside.

In the evening, both girls had baths. Mommy and Daddy continue to be excited by the hair growth and are enjoying giving the girls funny hair during their baths. This is Clara a.k.a. Spikey Gornstein.

Saturday, Emma wanted to make sure that everyone knew she also puts her feet in her mouth, so here is a picture capturing her doing so.

Clara figures out how to use the bar on the gymini.

We made a "Clara" sandwich, which didn't last long.

On Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came over to babysit so Mommy and Daddy to check out places in Westchester. In the late afternoon, Daddy enjoyed time with the girls and relaxed while watching football.

Emma FINALLY found her voice. While Clara has been talking, Emma had been mostly expressing herself without opening her mouth. However, Emma has started to open her mouth and in this video, we are happy to present "The Voice of Emma."
Clara and Emma didn't want to go to bed and both grabbed Daddy's legs to beg him from making them get ready for the evening bottle.
