Emma Swims

Yep- really- head under, body under, with strokes, arm over arm. Mommy got new goggles and after camp, it was off to the pool to try them.

Emma enthusiastically put them on and all of the sudden, put her head in. She didn't stop thee- she started kicking her legs and moving her arms. She jumped up and started doing a dance singing "I can swim!"

Chelsea met the kids at the pool and Emma kept swimming. Clara saw it and was excited that Emma could "race her to the deep end."

It was also time to say goodbye to Chelsea as she heads off to Australia for the semester. She has been amazing with the kids!

Cool Caterpillars

 

 

Zoo

Perfect weather for the zoo- so the Gornstein gals headed to the Bronx. The kids enjoyed the carousel, Dora movie, monorail through Asia, a camel ride, team ride and yes, the animals- all in 2 hours!

 

 

Brave

After a morning of errands and jumping in puddles, it was off to the movies on a rainy afternoon. Clara put up some resistance, and has about going to the movies for a long time. Chelsea, the sitter, told her she'd seen it and it wasn't too scary- plus they had read the book! And, they loved it!

Clara and Emma played with the makeup they got from their cousins yesterday. Clara kept asking if people wanted a "makeup over."

They even got a bit of time on the new bar they got on the swing set- they love flipping!

I Like The Redskies

Yep, that is a line from Emma this morning, when trying to tease Daddy to let him know she didn't like the JETS- of course, she means the Redskins!

Last Day at Bethany and Beyond

A sunny and hot morning turned to a very stormy afternoon- but it didn't stop the Gornsteins!

The kids still had a great time at the beach and pool, got ice cream in Bethany ( which Emma thought was Bethany and Beyond like Bed Bath and Beyond), napped and picked up dinner!

Beach Fun With Grandma and Grandpa Frome

This morning, despite the incredible heat- the kids played soccer as part of the children's activities.

Then, it was off to the beach where Mommy showed them how to catch the little crabs in the ocean. In fact, they hung out in the bucket with sand and water as pets all day!

Around lunch, Grandma and Grandpa came to join in the beach fun! And the kids went swimming for a bit too.

Late this afternoon, it was off to Rehoboth. Clara enjoyed the roller coaster with Mommy and both did the helicopters. While Emma wasn't allowed to do bumper cars because of height, Emma and Mommy played the horse game- which Mommy win. And, Mommy still reigns as Whac A Mole champion as she beat Daddy and Grandpa.

Grottos on the boardwalk and Annie's Bananies were also part of the nite.

Clara and Emma were super tired, but got to play a few rounds of bingo with Grandma!

Club Sea Colony

Today, the kids went to camp for 4 hours. It was great for them and for Mommy and Daddy.

At camp, they did arts and crafts, went swimming and even met some sea animals a local environmental group brought in!

It was back to Rehoboth for some rides and games. The kids went in bumper cars which they loved and wanted to do again ( but the shift change meant the next ticket collector decided Emma wasn't tall enough- big disappointment!). Clara loved the tea cups and Emma never wants to do it again and cried - even though she sat next to Daddy.. Oh well.

For dinner, it was off to a favorite, Dogfish Head. Yum!

Sandy Kids

The overcast but warmer day didn't stop Clara and Emma from hitting the beach for most of the day. The built castles, dug sand, jumped waves, made friends and rolled in the sand!

The best was every time they went to get water, they'd hold hands and sometimes while waiting, put their arms around each other!

After eating at Phillips for dinner, the kids enjoyed Sea Colony's Family Bingo! Sure, they wanted to win and the concept of losing isn't really fun, but they stated until the end!

Beach Fun in Father's Day

Mommy, Clara and Emma walked - yes- everyone walked, no stroller- to Bethany to get donuts for Daddy for Father's Day.

Then it was off to the indoor pool because it was overcast and a bit chilly.

In the afternoon, the beach welcomed Clara and Emma as they rolled in the sand and jumped in waves- even though it was cold!

Tonite, after a quick nap on the way ,the gang went to Rehoboth for games, rides, dinner at Jake's and then Annie's Bannanies!
