Since it was close, the gang stopped by the Greenburgh Nature Center Fall Festival. Of course Clara went to get the apple and assumed she could take a bite out of it.. so she got another one and waited her turn to press apples into cider (which she later got to taste). There were long lines, but the kids did get to paint a pumpkin together- blue mostly- and got to go to the garden and pick their own gourds off the vine. They also got to meet some turkeys and Clara tried talking to one. They also found sticks and took turns being a conductor, like they had learned at the show yesterday.
The ladies gobbled up a turkey meat sauce with spaghetti, Mommy's new specialty, butternut squash fries and even had a plum.
Mommy had intended to give Emma a suppository, but she saw it and insisted on sitting on the potty. She tried and tried, but nothing worked. When Mommy tried, she stood up and said "okay, okay, I'm going to try again- don't get that near me." She did sit for a long time and try and that was almost as important as her going, so no suppository. It was heartbreaking to hear her scream. And yes, Clara sat down and asked if she could have one....
Just some recent things the kids have been doing that are cute...
Emma has started sleeping on the travel pillow in a case and has put the pillow the other direction from where she had always had it.
And Clara, who has always slept with lots of things, needs lots of blankets- the blue one, the one with holes, the soft one etc and yes, this is what she calls them.
Clara notices the color blue anywhere she is- she'll say, "oh look, there is blue. blue is my favorite color. I love blue."
Emma keeps asking to see the Fancy Nancy show- but there isnt one... at least yet.
Clara has been trying to write her name. "C...L.. A ... R... A.. and a heart on top" she says. She has the "C" and the "L" down, but not the "A" or the "R" so much..
Clara also has started saying "I'm crying. Why arent you coming to get me?" or "Don't go to Emma first. Go to me. I'm gonna cry if you go to Emma. Me first."
They are always talking about being next to, in the middle or in between someone- and have to discuss these concepts anytime someone sits down.
They are both into winning and being first. This should be interesting,
