The Blaze

This morning it was off to the city for Madeline's 2nd birthday. Clara and Emma were good and had fun running around the party room. And, the cake from Daddy's favorite bakery, Glaser's, was a big hit.

Tonight, the gang had an early dinner and then Clara and Emma put on their pajamas and got in the car and headed up to Croton to see The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor "featuring 4000 hand carved illuminated jack o lanterns." It was a warmer night than it had been recently, which was a plus. Mommy had told Clara and Emma all day that they were doing something special in the dark and they'd get lots of glow in the dark things. Mommy gave them a glow in the dark bracelet, a glow in the dark necklace and their very own flashlight- all big hits. Daddy got them cider donuts and apple cider too - what a treat! PS Blaze photos courtesy of Mommy's friend Gwenn who was there at the same time!

They looked like such big girls walking around with their flashlights in the dark and commenting on things they saw. Emma made her face like an "O" copying a pumpkin and Clara like the butterflies and pirate. Both of them wanted to go in the house that was lit up (probably because Mommy told them the princess lived there so they wouldn't be scared). There were pumpkins stacked and carved to be sunflowers, alligators and snakes, butterflies and dragonflies, pirates and dinosaurs. It was really cool!
