Moving Up Ceremony

Today was Clara and Emma's Moving Up Ceremony at their school today. Yes, a year of nursery school is almost officially over (one more day!).

Mommy was determined to take some photos before leaving and had Clara and Emma pose outside and got some cute shots. Clara and Emma also wore special bracelets from Argentina with their names on them that they got when they were born.

It was also a special day because Grandpa Sam came too!

Mommy didn't know if Clara would go on the stage, because during the rehersal last week, she had no interest (according to Emma and their teachers). But, Clara marched right up there and stood next to Emma. Both of them, along with their classmates, sang "ABC" and "Bim Bam," with full hand motions. It was adorable!! Emma had a moment with her barrette and screamed because it was falling off, but Jackie, the director, fixed it and Emma was able to continue on.

Emma made sure to comment throughout the whole ceremony. One could hear "that's my Grandpa," or "they're getting a flower" (said when the 4's were given a flower after getting their diplomas). Emma and Clara loved dancing during the songs played during the photo montage- Emma looked likes she was at a concert.

After snacks of grapes, watermelon and booty, Grandpa Sam took Clara and Emma and Mommy to lunch. Before Mommy event turned in, Clara said "that's the diner!" Clara and Emma insisted on sitting next to Grandpa and were given a book about penguins (good thing, because they were actually arguing over who got to sleep with the stuffed penguin last night) and some Sesame Street puzzles.  And, they both ordered- Emma did it so clearly that the waitress was quite impressed and shocked that she could say everything she wanted - chocolate milk, french fries, grilled cheese and apple sauce (in that order too).

Grandpa Sam headed back on the train and the ladies came home to nap. This afternoon, it was off to Scenic Park on the Hudson in Irvington- tucked away, these two playgrounds are fenced in and have a beautiful view of the water and NYC!
