Evaluations

Good news, for the first time in several days, Emma slept through the night with no wakings and until almost 8!

And... the CPSE evaluations have started. This morning, Emma and then Clara both had a speech evaluation. As suspected, the talker of the family did very well. And, the evaluator informed Mommy that Clara will continue to get services after her 3rd birthday. One never knows how these things will turn out, and while Clara is doing great and her speech continue to improves, she continues to struggle with the clarity of it and low tone of her facial muscles. Additionally, it is suspected that her adenoids have grown back as the allergist confirmed she doesn't have allergies (good news, of course), but the possibility that the adenoids are back explain her some of her challenges.

Each child was evaluated separately. Emma went first and Clara played outside on the great playground at Alcott in Scarsdale. Clara came in and said to Mommy "Where is Emma? Where is my Emma?" It was adorable. The both enjoyed the indoor gym while Mommy spoke to the evaluator.

Clara was exhausted and started crying and throwing a tantrum. On the way home, Clara turned to Emma and said "I crying, you not crying. You okay, you not crying," which led to both of them crying. Reason unknown. Mommy put Clara to down for her nap an hour early and she fell right to sleep.

Oh- and yipee for Argentina- on to the next round! After a somewhat rocky start to the nap, they both slept -Clara woke up first and let Emma sleep a bit longer.

Mommy had to do some pick ups and Clara and Emma came along. At Industry - a fave shopping destination of Mommy's in Dobbs- Clara and Emma sat on the couch and checked Mommy out in some clothes she tried on. Emma was a riot with comments like "Mommy,  you look beautiful." or "What are you trying on next." and "Take off the tag. I Love it." It was a glimpse of what life may look like in the future.

Overheard tonight after the bath (which the ladies love pretending to swim in, but they've also figured out how to turn on the water- so one has to be careful with them near faucets), was a cute conversation between the kids. It should be noted that this came after Clara going through every single pair of pajamas and not finding what she wanted (panda top and blue polka dot bottoms).

Clara: "I wear bee pajamas."
Emma: " I thought you don't like bugs?"
Clara: "I like bugs."
Emma: "Me too. I love bugs, I love bugs. (song from Yo Gabba Gabba).
