Hanging Out at Lyndhurst

Mommy dressed the ladies in clothes that are 24 months by Just One Year (Carter's) and of course, they were huge on them- Daddy had to roll up the pants twice! Now, Clara and Emma have always been small and usually get a few more months out of their clothes, but some of these brands are made for big toddlers!!

This morning featured a Target run and a walk through the White Plains street fair where Clara and Emma got to see lots of cars on display! Grandpa Gornstein would have loved it!

Clara is teething and getting her 2 year molars in and isn't very happy about it. She has been cranky and not sleeping great for her naps- but is doing okay at night, so Mommy and Daddy can't complain. Clara woke up from her nap early and woke Emma up too. After a brief football lesson and making sure that the ladies know to root for the JETS, it was off to the Gornstein family favorite, the Crafts Festival at Lyndhurst. Mommy and Daddy take Clara and Emma in the spring and fall to this event. The craft displays are wonderful and it is lots of fun to listen the music. This year, Clara and Emma sat and watched the puppet show. The puppets came out and Emma said "puppets" and both ladies laughed and smiled. It was special for Mommy and Daddy to watch Clara and Emma enjoy something like this. After, Emma even went over to say hi to the duck puppet and made sure to tell Daddy that she did. Emma also mastered drinking from a water bottle without spilling it everywhere.

Clara seems to remember being stung. If a bug comes near her face, she says "bee, bee" and starts rubbing her eye and cheek where she got stung. Mommy and Daddy have to reassure her that there is no bee or bug and she is okay. She has done it a couple of times and it happened again at the fair, as it was outdoors.

For dinner, Mommy prepared chicken nuggets and ketchup and a new veggie- edamame. Well, they did have it when they were babies mushed up. Anyhow, Emma liked the "peas." Clara only wanted more ketchup...

Mommy still gets a kick that Emma knows most of the words in the books that the gang reads. For example, in the "Red or Blue, Elmo Loves You," book, Mommy would pause at certain points and Emma just knew what came next. It is still neat too that Clara and Emma can both sit for these longer books, with many pages and words and seem to understand.

Mommy and Daddy love watching Clara sing "twinkle, twinkle," especially when she is tired. She scrunches up her eyes and chews on her blankie while twinkling her hands in the air. Adorable.
