Mommy knew it was going to be one of those days early this morning...
Mommy got a taste of what it is like to raise kids in the city as she assisted her friends with calls to nursery schools to get applications and tours- good news, Mommy got what was needed at all three schools she was assigned! This was one of those moments that Mommy was happy she did not have to do this for Clara and Emma.
Then, it was off to vist the pediatric dentist, Dr. Aimee. Clara and Emma enjoyed the slide in the waiting room and the blocks, but mostly enjoyed going through the diaper bag and finding the sunglasses and bracelets- and then putting them on.
Dr. Aimee came out to greet Clara and Emma with a puppet that had teeth and let Clara and Emma hold the instruments and check the puppet. It was off to the office, which was super child friendly. Clara and Emma started crying right away. Mommy sat in the chair and held Clara while she was examined- she has all her teeth including new 2 year molars that are starting to come in. Emma has all her teeth except the molars. Dr. Aimee also showed Mommy how to brush Clara and Emma's teeth and Mommy was happy to learn she and Daddy have been doing it right (this is of course probably due to having a dentist as a Dad/Grandpa). Clara and Emma loved their balloons, Dora toothbrushes, stickers, and going to the treasure chest to get necklaces. The good news is that once the crying ended, they enjoyed playing in the office and were very polite when leaving.
On the way home, Mommy took the girls to a cute park in White Plains to meet friend Diana and her son Zachary. It was a great little park that was fenced in and manageable with a few bucket swings and two climbing structures.
Lunch was tough- neither one was interested in eating, so Mommy tried chocolate milk boxes. Clara downed hers even before Mommy could give one to Emma. When Emma started drinking hers, Clara kept saying "more chocolate milk" and following Emma around trying to take it away.
After the nap, and Clara and Emma leaving the house holding hands and practicing the stairs, Mommy took the gals to the park in Eastchester, right at the end of Garth Road. Mommy thought Clara and Emma would like it because they could see the trains and Mommy heard it was a nice size and fenced in. It was a nice outing!
The ladies enjoyed feeding each other applesauce and putting spoons on each other's nose and giggling. They had requested pizza for dinner but didn't eat much of it and put most of their milk on their plates. Oh well.
Bath time didn't go smoothly as Clara climbed out of the tub before Mommy could even try to get the soap out and Emma followed. Picture Mommy trying to get the soap out of the hair of two screaming toddlers. Not very pretty.
Good news, they went to sleep right on time!
