Clara and Emma went back to school today. It was cooler and a little dreary, compared to earlier this week. Mommy had to pick the kids up early to take them to Clara's doctor appointment.
Clara had her follow-up appointment today. Good news- tubes look good! Cute story- Mommy recognized the mom and little boy waiting for their appointment with Clara and Emma. Turns out that the little boy had surgery right before Clara (in fact, the two had been waving). Small world.
In the afternoon, Clara and Emma visited their friend Emma and her Mommy, Lori. It was lots of dress up, sleepover party, boo boos (ie put a bandaid on anywhere) and of course, struggling with sharing!
Here is a note from Clara and Emma's teachers:
Dear Twos' Parents,
As soon as Purim ended, we moved right into Passover! We have been working on a few Passover art projects. First we made frog puppets as props for when we sing our song about the frogs ("One Morning") as well as to use as centerpieces at our school's model seder. Then we made matzah trays which you can use on your table at your own seder to put your matzah on. Finally, we are making beautiful covers for our Haggadahs, which each child will receive at the model seder.
Our favorite Passover songs are "One Morning," "Listen King Pharaoh," and "Building Cities," all of which can be found in your GHC Songbook.
We'll also be singing "Dayeinu" with the children as well as the the beginning of the Four Questions. We are tasting and talking about matzah at snack time, and playing our "Find the Afikomen" game.
After Passover we'll be starting a unit on Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and will be reading the book, playing with our own tree and velcro letters, and creating a big coconut tree with each child's first letter to hang up in our hallway art gallery. In addition, we will begin reading books about spring and making flowers to replace the snow people on our classroom bulletin board.
We did some easel painting with red and blue paint and saw that when we mixed them together they turned into purple. Purple seems to be a pretty popular color among the twos this year! See their paintings up in our hallway.
The twos have been excited to start playing outside again on the nice days we've had during this little spring preview! Hopefully spring will really be here soon!
Love,
Your Twos' Team,
Laurie and Helene
