The Weekend of Visiting Children's Museums

On Saturday, Clara and Emma enjoyed a drive to Norwalk, Connecticut to vist Stepping Stones Children's Museum. It was their Groundbreaking Event for a new building, so there were special events and it was free entrance.

Clara and Emma loved the Toddler Terrain where they got to climb up and down the stairs and go down the slide. They also loved Waterscape, where they got to play with water. They both loved picking up the balls and being lifted by Grandpa Frome to drop them in a bigger pool of water. Clara and Emma went on to do some drawing and unfortunately, Clara fell and got a bloody lip. The staff at the museum were incredible and after a few minutes, everyone was fine. Soon after, Emma found a ledge to climb and rolled herself under the railing onto the stage. She was quite proud of herself. Mommy is lovingly referring to her as "monkey" for all of her acrobatics these days. Clara and Emma's favorite activity was probably sitting in the real trucks outside and pretending to "drive" with the wheel. And, of course, because it was a special event, Clara and Emma left with special hard hats, which they enjoyed modeling at home.

In the afternoon, Grandma Frome and Mommy took Clara and Emma to the park for some swings and slides. Clara still thinks it is funny to try and walk off the slide or go down head first, which no one else found entertaining. Both Clara and Emma loved climbing up the stairs and being outside.

On Sunday, Clara and Emma drove to Long Island with Mommy and Daddy to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein, Uncle Ilan and Matt, Andrew and Kayla and cousin Vanina, visiting from Argentina, at the Long Island Children's Museum.

All the cousins enjoyed the toddler area when it opened. Then, everyone headed to the bubbles. Clara and Emma had a blast. The gang headed upstairs to explore. Clara and Emma found a real car to go and drive- but were not happy when they got in and couldn't turn the wheel. They went and played with Matt, Andrew and Kayla with the blocks. A big favorite was the music room, where they got to play musical instruments from around the world. They even got to play in a pretend music studio. After some more exploration, Clara and Emma visited the sandy area, but decided on one last trip to the bubbles.

In the afternoon, Clara and Emma ate their snack under the highchair. Clara decided to sit there and Emma joined her and they just hung out there for at least 15 minutes. Clara also had control of the snack trap with the cheerios and was distributing them to Emma. The very funny part was when she put them on the floor, Emma would pick them up and eat them. And, Mommy got some photos of Clara hugging Emma, Emma running away, Clara chasing her, tackling her and loving her up. Too cute!

When Grandma and Granpda Frome got back from visiting Auntie Alyssa and Michael in the city, Clara and Emma enjoyed playing dress up with Grandma's shoes. Grandma Frome also taught Emma how to say "Nice to meet you," after you shake someone's hand. And, they both would say "happy" indicating they wanted Grandma to draw happy faces on the etch a sketch. They also drew lots of lines, dots and circles.
