Dance, Dance, Dance

This morning, Mommy took Clara and Emma, and the sitter, Samantha, to a class called Kid Co-Motion, a dance class for toddlers. A few of Mommy's friends had tried it out and Mommy saw an article in Macaroni Kid, a great weekly calendar of activities for kids in the Rivertowns and decided to try it.

The class started with some stretching and then some movements. There was some running in a circle too. There was some circle time and a part where the kids got to play different musical instruments. Clara and Emma liked the tamborine and the shakers. Emma even tried the triangle.Towards the end, there was a chance to dance freely with colcorful ribbons. Emma loved it! Clara wasn't so sure but enjoyed the parts where she got to play musical instruments and got to be lifted up high in the air.

Update on the nap transition... today, they went to sleep at 11 and slept until 1:10!!! This is very good news. However, they were exhausted by 4:15, and showing it by rubbing their eyes, crying etc. Mommy decided that talking to Grandma Frome on the computer would be a good distraction. After a few minutes of singing songs, Mommy gave Clara and Emma a bath, which they enjoyed. Clara and Emma had a some cheese and pears for dinner. Again, they didn't drink their milk or eat their pasta. But, they ate something, unlike last night. Mommy has shifted the feeding schedule a bit too. They eat at 7:10 like usual and then get a snack at 10- like a yogurt shake and cheerios or graham cracker. They get lunch at 1 ish and then dinner at 5. Mommy isn't giving them a snack in the afternoon because they have a huge snack in the morning to help them stay awake longer and keep their bellies full during their nap and Mommy would like them to eat dinner. Clara found a new catalog from Step 2 and started flipping through it and Emma asked to "read" it. So, Mommy read them the catalog. Clara kept turning back to the page with the cars and motioning wheel turning. Mommy knew Clara and Emma were tired and didn't want them to get too overtired, so she put them down early- at 5:30 and after only two minute of fussing, they both fell asleep.
