Clara and Emma had a typical morning- with Clara wanting to wear the purple dress and Emma giving in and letting her, even though it is her favorite color and she picked first. Clara apparently doesn't like being cold because when Mommy picked her up she said "Mommy, it is cold outside, I didn't like being cold." The kids left school a bit early so they could go to their friend Matthew's third birthday.
A quick trip to Costco provided a Santa greeting the ladies at the door to huge smiles from Clara and Emma. Emma kept saying, "ho ho ho," and "see Mom, there is a Santa." Of course, she also sang a song from school that has the Hebrew word for fingers "etzbaot."
Mommy said to a very tired Clara, "do you want to be a panda," showing her the panda pajamas. Clara burst into tears and said "I want to be me, I don't want to be a panda." Can't help but smile that she wants to be her!
Tonight's conversations are some of the best ever had.
Mommy was sitting with a very tired Clara in her bed and Emma was protesting coming in her room. She walked in with her doll and sat down and said
Emma: "Mommy, I need to tell you something. You woke my dollie up because you screamed."
Mommy: "Why did Mommy raise her voice?"
Emma: "Because I wasn't listening to you. But you made dollie upset and she is crying. I need to take her for a walk. Shhh...baby...shhh...I'm here. Everything is okay.:
Mommy tries to move Emma to her bed and Emma falls.
Emma: "Dollie needs ice. She fell. Dollie- I've told you 100 times to be careful and pay attention so you don't fall."
The second conversation came soon after Clara pooped and returned to her bed. She screamed "Mommy, I have to go poop again. Emma, want to come watch me? With Emma following, Clara returned for a 30 minute sitdown- where she had quite an adult poop. In the meantime, Emma made her a cake and sang "We're so glad that you pooped, we're so glad that you pooped..." to the tune of "Happy Birthday."
Meanwhile, Clara kept saying "Mommy, my poopies are in line. I don't need to push, they pop out." Emma couldn't resist taking a look and responding "Oh my goodness. Oh dear. These are so big. Good job, Clara!"
The third conversation went as follows.
Clara: "Can I go to sleep with my books. I need to read and then go to sleep. I love reading my books. Then I'm happy. Will Daddy be mad?"
Mommy: "No, Daddy won't be mad."
Clara: "Call Daddy and tell him not to come home and be mad."
Emma: "Will Daddy be mad that I am going to sleep on the floor."
Mommy: "Mommy and Daddy love you very much. We get mad if you don't listen and we don't want you to get hurt."
Emma: "Will Daddy get mad at dollie for sleeping on the floor."
Mommy: "No."
