A Morning With The Flowers

The weather was a little iffy this morning and Mommy even saw some sprinkles, but decided to head to the NY Botanical Gardens in the Bronx to meet up with Sasha and her two kids, Dylan and Riley (and yes, Dylan, like Clara, has a tutu obsession).

The kids hadn't seen each other for a long time, but loved being together. Clara and Emma loved wandering and stopping at the flowers and noting the colors (Look, Mommy, a purple/pink...flower). They enjoyed climbing rocks and standing on the lookout point trying to look throught the telescope. They walked through the maze, checked out the blocks and enjoyed the garden. Clara and Emma even saw a small butterfly flying around and were startled when it flew near them - Mommy even got a photo. They also loved seeing the little frogs in the pond. Emma noted "they don't ribbit, Mommy?"

All four kids enjoyed lunch in the cafe- orange, raisin, chocolate milk and a crustable pb and j (and new treat for Clara and Emma who were concerned that they couldn't see the peanut butter and jelly). The sun came out and the temps started to warm by the time the gang headed home, but it was still a relaxing morning with the flowers! Special thanks to Sasha for some great pics too!

The kids took a great nap and afterwards, headed to the playground. They were especially excited to see their neighbor friends coming home from school and ran over to give hugs. It was cute. Clara and Emma met up with friends Jared, Avery, Jacob and baby Emme. Mommy was happy to see their Mommy's, Brooke and Amanda and enjoy the new playground of choice at the Concord Road Elementary School. It was warm and Clara had red cheeks fairly quickly. They found a big red playground ball and tried playing soccer with it. Clara insisted on taking out her little trucks and walking around with them and sending them down the slide. Brooke came up with a great solution- put the trucks in the tutu so Clara could use her hands to climb- quite a hit and yes, what a picture!
