Glen Island

For their last day of spring break (yes, Clara and Emma are on spring break from school), it was an incredibly warm, July like day with temps in the high 80's. So, Mommy decided to check out Glen Island Park in New Rochelle.

Mommy got a great photo of Clara refusing paparrazi as she said "no camera, Mommy." Ha!

Clara and Emma enjoyed climbing and looking around the castle and loved the playgrounds- there are three. Unfortunately, the beach isn't open yet (and Mommy wasn't the only one who thought it would be), and Clara and Emma were a little upset because Mommy even brought the sand toys.

Clara also has started asking "why" to everything. Emma has been doing this for quite some time, but now, Clara is joining in.

Mommy also caught Clara doing something - taking her finger and playing with her curls. Of course, Mommy had to take pictures because Auntie Alyssa is known in the family for this... Auntie, watch out, you've got competition.

At the grocery store, Mommy bought popsicles. Emma said "I want a red popsicle like at camp." Yes, that would be last August she is referring to and Mommy can't believe she remembered that!

Emma woke up and yelled "popsicle" and remembered the promise that Mommy made about having her popsicle post nap. Somehow, Mommy got Clara and Emma to wait until their friends, Dylan, Rylie and Emma N. came with their Moms, Sasha and Lori. The kids all enjoyed strawberry fruit bars (Clara looked like the joker) and loved playing with chalk and at the water table. They played outside for an hour and a half! And, being in the shade and by the trees made it cool on such a hot afternoon. It was lots of fun and for a special treat, Emma N. joined Clara and Emma for dinner and a favorite dessert- watermelon!
