The Last Saturday Of Tax Season

A long few months, but today is the last Saturday of tax season! Mommy has tried to keep the gals busy and today was no different.

Clara and Emma have been very excited about the prospect of painting their bird feeders since Mommy bought them on Thursday. They've wanted to take them everywhere and Mommy had to hide them. Today, they woke up and asked if they could do it and Mommy said "yes!" So, with newspaper on the table, smocks on and pajama sleeves rolled up, the gals engaged in painting their bird feeders.
Captivated for about 30 minutes with different colors, they made masterpieces! Now, if only cleaning the kids after was so easy!

Clara insisted on wearing her rainbow socks, pulled up over her leggings, and her new rainbow sweatshirt. The gals headed to Westchester Broadway Theatre for the Blue's Clues show. It is in Elmsford, right next to Ardsley and in a small theatre with tables. Clara and Emma were very excited! They loved seeing all of their "friends." And, they sat for the whole hour, writing "notes" in their Blue's Clues notebooks that were given to them with a green crayon. At the end, they got to say hi to their "friends" and even got a photo with Steve. Clara made sure to tell Steve that she had a "new rainbow sweatshirt."

Since there was still time before their nap, Mommy stopped by the Ardsley library. The gang had yet to visit and there is a newish children's wing. Mommy told Clara and Emma that they could get library cards. So, Emma waltzed in and said "can I have a library card, please?" Of course, she can't get one officially until she (and Clara) can write their names, but the librarians played along, and gave them each a magnet for the library that looked like a card, while they gave Mommy a real card. Clara and Emma picked out two Max and Ruby books and went over to check them out.

This afternoon, Uncle Dan came over to help Daddy with computer/tv stuff. Daddy grilled lots of yummy food too! Tonight, Emma was asked something and her response was "I'm not telling you." After dinner, she said it again, and Mommy, Daddy and Dan laughed. What did she do? "Why are you laughing at me?" she said. Nope, can't make this stuff up.
