On The Road to Recovery

Well, the stomach virus hit the Gornstein household. Clara woke up on Sunday and seemed out of it. She clung to Daddy and put her finger in her mouth and indicated she wanted to go back to sleep. Mommy and Daddy took her and Emma downstairs and gave them breakfast. Clara did eat, but while Daddy was holding her, she vomited three times, all over her and Daddy. After a quick bath, Mommy and Daddy kept an eye on her and then let her go back to sleep- she slept for over 3 hours. Emma seemed fine and took her usual morning nap and enjoyed playing with her toys and Mommy and Daddy. Clara wasn't interested in food, but Mommy tried to encourage her to drink apple juice and eat a few cheerios. She was able to hold it down and by dinner, she had some pasta. The good news is that she slept through the night and seemed like her old self today, even though she didn't really eat much and Mommy and Daddy stuck to giving her bland food.

Daddy took the day off so he could be home for Emma's early intervention meeting. It was as expected and Emma will begin physical therapy one time a week for six months. Emma has been taking a few steps on her own and trying to stand more, but Mommy and Daddy are glad she will have someone to focus on her and help her strengthen her lower body so she can not only walk, but go up the stairs and run in the future.

After their morning nap, Mommy and Daddy took the ladies out on a beautiful and unseasonably warm day for a walk to Doubleday's in Dobbs. Clara and Emma showed Mommy how they like to play with sugar packets, something they learned on Saturday when they went to lunch in Staten Island with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein and Great Aunt Raquel. They also enjoyed coloring with the crayons. Then, it was off to the park for a little swinging and sliding. The ladies took a nice afternoon nap and enjoyed some snack, before visiting Stew's.
