It was the day of the fridge at the Gornstein house. Of course, in the middle of a heat wave where you couldn't find relief anywhere, the freezer in the kitchen broke. It was fixed by mid afternoon, but almost all the food in the fridge and freezer had to go. And, the new fridge/freezer for the garage arrived too- woo hoo!
Dinner was enjoyed at the Scarsdale Metro Diner. Clara sat down, pretended to read the menu and said "ice cream. I like chocolate." Mommy explained that she had to eat dinner first. Her response, "I like chocolate ice cream. It is my favorite." A few french fries, a bite of grilled cheese and a spoonful of applesauce, she got her ice cream. Who could deny her in this heat?
To the tune of Baa Baa Black Sheep, Clara sang "Maybe I make noise and Mommy come back here."
