So much for honeymoon period of the ladies staying in their beds (read: Grandma Frome, your granddaughters need to be spoken to by you and re-learn the rules).
Last night, Mommy went up to check on the kids and found them with stacks of books in their beds. After a minute, Mommy realized that these were not here when Mommy left the room after saying goodnight. Mommy asked Clara if she got out of bed and she just looked at Mommy. Emma responded, "yes, she did." Mommy reminded them that big girls stay in their beds.
In fact, this morning, Mommy and Daddy discussed staying in bed and not getting out with both Clara and Emma. However, not much stuck because during nap time, Mommy heard loud noises and went in to find Clara standing next to Emma's bed. Good news is after looking at Mommy with fear, Clara and Emma went on to take a nice nap.
The day started with quite a storm-it grew very dark and lots of rain, thunder and lightening came. Clara and Emma didn't like the noise, so Mommy told them to speak back to the noise and say "boom boom," (of course they did it all day too). Mommy changed the kids out of their bathing suits, put them in clothes, got their rain boots and rain jackets and put a pair of shoes in their backpacks (at least they are all packed for camp on Tuesday). When the storm seemed to end, Mommy headed off to camp- very slowly, as it picked up again. The line at drop off was very long because everyone left a little later and went slowly. Mommy had to pull over because the sheets of rain coming down after drop off made it so Mommy couldn't see! Of course, by the time Mommy left her spinning class, it was humid and sunny!
This afternoon, Mommy took Clara and Emma for their first visit to the Ardsley Swim and Tennis Club with some neighbors. Clara and Emma loved playing in the pool and playground and enjoyed dinner with the Best family. It was lots and lots of fun!
Just a funny note that Clara figured out how to take the battery/talking part our of her Leap Frog Lily doll that sings "1,2,3." This little purple box has become something the ladies fight over too. They each like to hold it and also put it to their ear and pretend to talk to Lily- priceless.
