Raspberry Picking

The ladies joined Mommy at Amawalk Farm in Katonah for some organic raspberry picking. Today was the first day that the farm opened to visitors for u-pick. Daddy stayed home to watch the Argentina soccer game- which they unfortunately lost. The ladies enjoyed taking the short hayride to the field and picking raspberries-but like with other berry picking experiences- not many ended up in the container- most ended up in their mouths! They enjoyed looking for and picking the berries. Emma had a meltdown and Mommy had to carry her kicking and screaming, and the berries and hold Clara's hand out of the orchard. There were a few families that realized Mommy needed help - thank goodness. Of course, Emma spent the day talking about how mych fun the raspberry picking was and how happy she was. Toddler.. arghhh

This afternoon, after their nap, it was off to Long Island to celebrate cousin Andrew's 7th birthday. Clara and Emma changed into their bathing suits and enjoyed playing with the pirate water table, hitting the ball with a bat, kicking the soccer ball and the swingset. And, while the bbq food was delish, Clara and Emma dined on cake, watermelon and cookies...oh well.
