What a way to start May! This morning, Daddy headed to Vegas very early in the morning for his annual trip. Once the girls woke up and got ready, it was out the door to pick up Auntie Alyssa at the train and head to Rye Playland. As suspected, the kids are too short to ride most of the rides- even in Kiddyland. That said, Clara and Emma enjoyed the train, driving a truck and a way too fast spinning time ride that they insisted on going on.
And, since Mommy promised them on the next nice day they'd get to go to the beach, it was a quick drive around the corner to Oakland Beach in Rye. Clara and Emma were so excited to be at the beach. They loved playing in the sand and enjoyed a very expensive lunch from Seaside Johnny's (yes, Mommy will pack a cooler next time). They both liked sucking the onion out of the fried onion ring, but didn't want to eat the onion. They couldn't wait to go in the water, even though Mommy said it was cold, but they walked right in and would have gone further.
On the way to the car, they picked dandelions and hugged trees. After a nap, it was off to a favorite destination, the Crafts Fair at Lynhurst. Clara and Emma enjoyed the puppet show and the music. They loved playing with school friend, Eitan, and riding on his Daddy's back.
To top off the day, the gals enjoyed pizza for dinner and a bath. It was a busy, but really fun day!
And, the really good news is they stayed dry. A few close calls with Clara as she said she had to pee but then wouldn't do it in a port a potty (yes, we tried) or outside (tried that too). Can't blame her...
