A short drive later, the gang enjoyed lunch at The Wobble Cafe in Ossining. Cute place with a little play area for kids, coloring and yummy food.
On the way home, both Clara and Emma whined and Mommy expressed her unhappiness. Emma kept saying "Mommy, you happy." And, then followed it up with "Mommy, relax. Mommy, take a deep breath." Clara and Emma went straight for a nap!
On the way to a playdate, Emma suddenly threw up in the car. Yes, that means that now both kids have puked in the car. Mommy isn't sure if she drank too much (which she said she did) or ate too fast, but up it came. The quick ride home was unpleasant as Emma cried and acknowledged that she "needed a bath and new clothes." She seemed fine for the rest of the afternoon.
Dinner was also fun. Mommy made pasta with butter and was reminded by Emma that it needed the parmesean cheese. Emma started by pouring her water into her bowl and mixing it up and them splashing it all over the place. Clara, who was sitting on Mommy's lap, reached for the cup and looked at Mommy and understood she shouldn't do it- so put it down. No sooner did she put it down, Emma picked it up and poured it in. With no dinner for anyone, Mommy cleaned up the mess.
To top off the night, Clara said she had "poopie." Mommy knows she meant "pee." Why? Suddenly she was standing with her diaper at the bottom of her pjs and a puddle of water underneath her.
Mommy is very glad today is over.
By the way, here is a note from their teachers at school.
"Hi Parents.
Your twos have been enjoying all the activities in the classroom and upstairs. They have also been spending more time interacting with one another. They love being together and are getting better at taking turns with materials and activities.
They are enthusiastic about having jobs to do in the classroom. They may come home and tell you proudly that they were the bell-ringer, the weather-picker, the book or song chooser, or the line leader. The jobs rotate and each child usually has a job every other day.
We continue to talk a lot about colors and shapes and started reading some books about shapes. Soon we will be doing a unit on Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
Favorite songs during circle time are ABC, Old McDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and If You're Happy and You Know It. Yesterday we kept the beat using rhythm sticks and colored square cushions as drums. The twos loved this.
See you tomorrow...photo day!
