Today, Mommy got to join Clara and Emma at their school for the Hanukkah party. It was adorable. And, yes, once Mommy can load pics, she will!
Clara and Emma listened nicely to the Rabbi and Jackie, the nursery school director talk about Hanukkah. They also loved watching the candles being lit and tried to sing along- they actually know most of the blessings.
Then, Clara thought she was a member of the 4s, as she stood up with them and tried to sing a long for their little performance of Hanukkah songs. Too cute. Emma enjoyed sitting with her teacher Laurie and marching around the room like a Macabee. Clara said hi to Mommy as she was taking pictures and then said confidently, "Mommmy, sit down." Yep.
After, there was a little party where most of the 2s sat together and enjoyed pirate booty, donuts, and bagels and cream cheese.
This afternoon, Mommy tried a made up recipe for latkes with carrots and cubed sweet potatoes- since that was what she found at the market. This year, Mommy tried Matza Meal, and it seems to have worked, but a little too much, as they taste little like Passover. Oh well.
Later, Mommy hosted her Thursday Play Group's play date, with the Hanukkah theme. Latkes, gelt and candy dreidels and menorahs were enjoyed. Clara and Emma had enough junk today to last them for a long time- between the morning donuts, the gelt, candy dreidel, the healthiest thing that they ate was the applesauce. No wonder they were screaming like crazy during the play date!
