Erev Christmas 2009

Mommy knows today as such, "erev" -the Hebrew for the night before.

The great news is that Clara and Emma seem much healthier and happier today. Clara's first word out of her mouth today was "oatmeal." A great sign - and she ate her breakfast nicely. The gang headed to Great Play for a pay to play session and met lots of friends there- Daddy came too. During circle time, as the coach went around and asked kids their names, Clara kept saying her name (she currently pronounces it as "Kaaarah" - missing the "L" and with a long "a." When it came to Emma's name, Clara jumped right in and said "Emma." Then said "I Kaarah," and also made sure to introduce Daddy too. Mommy and Daddy were quite impressed with her speech and very proud of her.

Tonight, Clara and Emma got to wear their kilts that Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein got for them on a trip to Scotland. Clara liked to call it a tutu and twirl around in it. Emma looked at Clara all dressed up and said " look beautiful."

Special thanks to the Speak family for having us over for a little Christmas Eve gathering with friends and family. Clara and Emma loved their gifts of magic wands- yes, purple and pink and saying "1,2, 3, you are a tiger" or anything else that came to mind. Mommy started this earlier this week and said "1,2, 3 you are a princess," waived her hands and said "poof." And, Emma would say "Now I am a princess. Make me a Pirate." It is nice to know that she isn't too girly!
It was a fun day.

Mommy was standing in the kitchen at about 9:45 when she heard loud music and what sounded like "Ho, Ho, Ho." Wouldn't you know it- it was Santa. Yep, the guy in the red suit, riding a fire truck. Not only did he come down the street, he came in the cul de sac too! Mommy and Daddy got a laugh out of it and love that the village does that for its residents. What a treat.

Merry Christmas to those celebrating! Peace on Earth and Joy to All!
