Christmas 2009

Mommy thinks it is sort of nice that Clara and Emma get to help their cousins celebrate Christmas.

Emma started the day by requesting juice. Being that it was the morning, Daddy gave her milk. Emma looked at it, tasted it and said "Daddy, no, I told you juice." Mommy and Daddy chuckled. They both played with their new magic wands and Clara enjoyed making Daddy a princess.

Emma announced she liked the sparklers on the pretzels. This meant sprinkles. Mommy explained that it was salt and when Emma asked what that was, Mommy stumbled over an explanation while Daddy shook his head. Emma seems to think that sparklers are sprinkles- because she called the sprinkles on the cupcakes the same thing the other day.

Emma keeps saying things like "guys, wait for me," or "guys, what is that." She gets the context right, just no idea how she picks up some of these things she says.

Of course, it is entertaining that Emma sang "Dreidel Dreidel" in the car this morning and minutes later learned how to say "Merry Christmas."

After their nap, Mommy told the ladies that it was time to go celebrate Christmas at Uncle Ilan's house. Emma announced "I so excited" with a huge grin on her face.

In the traffic filled car ride to Long Island, "Tiny Dancer" came on the radio. Mommy turned and looked at Clara and Emma. Clara put her arms in the air like a ballerina and said "tutu" and Emma said "Tiny Dancer."

Clara and Emma enjoyed playing with their cousins and checking out their pretty tree. Dinner was yummy and highlights for both ladies included pickles and applesauce, and a little biscuit- a well rounded meal. Of course, they loved opening gifts and tried to start before everyone was ready. Thank you to all of the Gornstein/Gants families for such lovely gifts. And, of course, cookies, cake and ice cream were part of the night and enjoyed by both ladies.

A rainy drive home, the gang is now safe and sound and thank goodness, asleep.
