Emma Walks!

It is true! Emma took some real steps all be herself this afternoon. Before dinner, during play time, Emma was standing and smiling at Mommy. She has been standing more and more on her own. Mommy said "Emma, come to Mommy, take a few steps." At first, Emma did her usual lunging forward. Mommy put her back up and she took a few steps. Then, Emma did it a few more times. Mommy told Emma how proud of her she was.. and Clara stuck her head around and smiled- so Mommy made sure to tell Clara that she was proud of her too for being such a good walker!

More on today... It was a busy day as Mommy, Clara and Emma headed out of the house a little after 8 to meet friends for breakfast at Panera before Great Play. Gym was fun as always and included lots of climbing, slides and bubbles. Unfortunately, Clara fell and scratched her face. After some tear and a little ice, she went on to enjoy the rest of class, but has a nice mark on her cheek. Mommy was pleasantly suprised to bump into Sharon Forman after class. It was a nice treat.

Since some landscaping was being done to the house, Mommy took Clara and Emma to the mall. Clara and Emma fell asleep right away and slept for almost an hour. Mommy took Clara and Emma to Nordstrom Cafe for lunch. It was quiet and Clara and Emma enjoyed the attention from a lovely group of women sitting nearby. They enjoyed a grilled cheese (of course) and for the first time, chocolate milk. Emma took a sip and wasn't sure what it was, but continued to drink it and kept calling it juice. Mommy thinks she thinks anything in a cup is juice. Clara also enjoyed it as it dribbled down her chin.

Clara and Emma still have runny noses, though not as bad as the past few days. They are clearly in pain from teething. Clara continues to stuff her blanket in her mouth and Emma chewed on a paper block at gym class today. Poor ladies!

Clara and Emma had a quick bath tonite. During Emma's bath, her new duck scrubby, her mommy duck and twin baby ducks and another rubber ducky kept her company- so when she said "duck" they were all there! Clara enjoys climbing so much that she tried climbing out of the tub- again. Mommy was right there, but one certainly has to keep an eye on Ms. Clara in the tub.
