After trying cut up grapes and oranges at breakfast (both like the grapes, Emma wasn't too fond of the oranges), Mommy decided it was time to check in with the doctor. While Clara and Emma have been sleeping through the night (thank god) and haven't had any symptoms of anything other than their runny noses and drooling, which all have attributed to teething, Mommy just wanted to make sure. Clara has some green mucous in the morning, followed by clear mucous all day- which can be normal for teething. However, it has been over a week and while she seemed fine, it was time to double check. So, after a brief stop to look at a house, it was off to the doctor. Of course, Mommy bumped into Sharon Forman and two of her kids (Mommy did a " I knew you when" story for Sharon's oldest daughter- Abby, now 7, and told her how she would play on the computer with Mommy when she came to visit her Mommy at work at the Temple). Clara was a superstar and Emma was a great sister as both sat on Mommy's lap during the exam. EClara had lots of wax in her ears and it turns out, had some fluid. Emma's ears seemed okay. Clara took her first does of pink amoxcicillin tonight and hopefully, all will be well.
Otherwise, the ladies took a late nap and didn't sleep too long. Clara woke up screaming and Mommy couldn't calm her down. Mommy tried giving Clara and Emma lunch, but they screamed and cried and threw it on the floor. So, Mommy loaded them in the car and they calmed down- they were so tired. Mommy thought it was time to try California Pizza Kitchen. It was packed (lots of kids had today off). Clara and Emma enjoyed the pizza and behaved like little ladies. At least 5 people came by to say that they had twins too and couldn't believe that Mommy had taken Clara and Emma out by herself and commented how well behaved they were... if they only knew!
After a stop at Denny's, CVS and Buy Buy Baby, Clara and Emma took a nap in the car while Mommy drove around. After they woke up, Mommy drove up and put Clara and Emma in the stroller and went to the park to meet friends for Friday's playdate. Mommy kept Clara and Emma in the stroller because it would have been too much today to have them going in different directions and they were both exhausted. It was nice to see everyone though. Clara and Emma weren't interested in quiche tonight, but Mommy tried challah with almond butter and they both ate it- and put it in their hair. Emma seems to like touching her hair these days- so lots of food ends up in it.
What a day!
