Singing Gornstein Gals

There are some weeks where Mommy can't find time to blog and some weeks where Mommy tries to write something every day or two so she can remember what is happening. Mommy knows she forgets lots of the cute things that Clara and Emma do and can only hope that she captures some of what is happening as they grow.

Today, Clara and Emma played with Daddy while Mommy went to the gym. Mommy came back and found that Clara was running a low fever, which is a common side effect to her surgery. Since she still refuses to take Tylenol orally and really drink liquids (although she is doing better), Mommy had to give it to her another way...

Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came for a visit and watched Clara and Emma while Mommy and Daddy took a quick trip to Home Depot and the grocery store. Mommy and Daddy forgot how many stores would be closed today due to Easter. The ladies took a great nap, from 12-1:40. Mommy is glad that she decided to start pushing them to 11:45-12 and thinks that they are doing better at sleeping longer and in the afternoon. After they woke up, the gang headed over to the new house to show Grandpa Gornstein. Clara took the play microphone and carried it with her throughout the house. Because the carpet is already being pulled up, it wasn't safe for Clara and Emma. Mommy and Daddy put them in one room where the carpet hasn't been pulled up and they had a blast playing around with Grandpa and Daddy while Mommy and Grandma picked some paint colors. Clara and Emma love the little alcove area and especially like pulling up on the step. Clara showed her dare devil side which no doubt comes from Mommy as she stood up and tried to walk around the perimeter of the step and of course, tried to walk right off, like she does on the slide.

Dinner was entertaining because Clara gave Emma all her mac and cheese and took all of Emma's pieces of zuchini and eggplant.

Mommy sang all the songs tonight, including Clara and Emma's new favorites, "Open Shut Them," and "I'm a Little Teapot." Clara lights up and has a huge grin when Mommy sings these and Emma gets ahead of Mommy and does the hand motions of the songs before Mommy gets to them!

Clara and Emma went to sleep at 6:10 without even a cry or scream. It was one of those nights where Mommy and Daddy found that sweet spot!
