Oy Vey and Sippy Cups

Another very hot and humid weekend with temps over 90 degrees! Of course, Clara and Emma made the best of it, even with their teething. They are working on their bottom incisors and Mommy is able to see the wholes for the teeth, so it is just a waiting game. Clara and Emma can't keep their fingers out of their mouths and are quite uncomfortable.
Friday, lunch was funny as Clara and Emma decided to play with their cups- Clara put hers on Emma's tray and Emma took both of them and then threw them on the floor. Mommy took Clara and Emma to the art store to make something which will be revealed soon. It was lots of fun. In the afternoon, Mommy decided it was too hot for the pool, so it was off to the mall to meet Caroline and Eli. And, of course, Mommy had to check out the sale at Nordstrom, where Clara and Emma enjoyed the shoe department and were celebrities. Mommy even bumped into her friend Ali- it was a treat! Daddy came home early and taught Clara something new- he put his hands on his head to say "oy" and Clara imitated him..
On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein came to play with Daddy, Clara and Emma, while Mommy went to the city to play with Lisa and Jen. Before Mommy left, Daddy taught Emma how to clean her hands and now, she makes the motion. Emma is certainly the child that "does many tricks." Clara and Emma even got to show Grandma and Grandpa their favorite grocery store, Stew Leonard's! In the evening, Mommy and Daddy took full advantage and went to Half- Moon for dinner- yum!
Sunday was another scorcher. Mommy and Daddy took Clara and Emma in the car for a bit but they weren't interested, so much of the day was in the house. Clara and Emma both enjoyed trying on Daddy's hat. Clara seem to like putting it on, playing peek a boo and then taking it off and throwing it behind her. Clara and Emma enjoyed a new snack, fruit bars from Earth's Best and yogurt melts- they couldn't get enough!
Days 4, 5, and 6 of formula in a cup at lunch have gone well. They both drink about 1-2 oz, and Mommy will continue this until their birthday, when it will become only water juice (Mommy's mixture of mostly water with a little apple or pear juice.
