July 4th Weekend Festivities

It was a VERY busy July 4th holiday weekend for Clara and Emma filled with family, friends and lots of fun!
On Thursday, Daddy stayed home and the ladies were excited that he could come on the morning walk. After a nap, Mommy got the ladies ready for music class and the trip to Long Island. Daddy came to Musical Munchkins and got to see how much Clara and Emma like music. Of course, Daddy wasn't too thrilled to be attending, but loved being with Clara and Emma. After music, Clara and Emma took a nice nap on the way to Uncle Ilan and Aunt Sara's house in Seaford. Clara and Emma enjoyed seeing all of their cousins and Grandma and Grandpa, and of course, celebrating Andrew's 5th birthday. The ladies got to stay up a bit later than usual (630) and slept in the car on the way home. Emma did the transfer from the car to the crib seamlessly. Clara wasn't too happy to be up and cried and cried. After several attempts at calming her down, Mommy gave her a few ounces of formula and she finally went to sleep at almost 9!

On Friday, the 4th of July, Clara and Emma enjoyed hanging out in the morning with Mommy and Daddy. It was very cloudy, so Mommy and Daddy decided against a morning walk. During lunch, Clara and Emma played with their bottles and enjoyed showing how they both could hold them, flip them the wrong way and throw them on the floor. After their lunch, Mommy and Daddy loaded them in the car to head to the see the Bermans in New Jersey. It was so much fun to see them and the Gluskys. After a nice bbq, Clara and Emma enjoyed another nap on the way home. Again, Emma did the transfer well and Clara wasn't too happy. It seems to Mommy that the ladies have switched personalities... Clara finally went to sleep. Mommy and Daddy were very glad that the fireworks didn't wake them. They were very loud, but nice. Mommy and Daddy watched the fireworks in Dobbs from their balcony under an umbrella (well, what they could see of them- there was a big tree in the way), but also saw nice ones across the river. And, of course, in true Gornstein tradition, watched the Macy's fireworks... even if on tv!
On Saturday, Clara and Emma took a walk with Daddy while Mommy tried out a class at the gym. For lunch, Mommy and Daddy took the ladies to the Dobbs Diner, where of course, Clara and Emma entertained the diners. Clara and Emma enjoyed blueberry pancakes (first time for pancakes) all over themselves and the table. After an outfit change, Clara and Emma had a bottle and played at home a bit before naptime. In the afternoon, Mommy and Daddy took the ladies to Stew Leonard's to shop for groceries. Clara and Emma visited the little farm and also enjoyed the singing cows- both in and outside of the store- they were mesmerized. Emma went to sleep without a problem and Clara cried and cried, but finally fell asleep.

Today, Clara and Emma woke up and enjoyed leftover blueberry pancakes. After a nap and lunch, Daddy took them on a walk. The girls were very tired and cranky- it is clearly teething time in the Gornstein house. Clara is shoving both hands in her mouth! After their nap, Michal and Guy, Dan, Lauren and Donna came to visit and watch Wimbeldon. It was lots of fun to have friends from NYC.
