Birthday, Maryland Style

Today, Clara and Emma enjoyed a morning playdate with cousins Adam and Valerie and their two sons, Ian and Drew, at their house in Bethesda. Ian and Drew have lots of cars and trucks and even a pinball machine- Clara and Emma had a blast! It was great to see them all interact and play together!

In the afternoon, Clara and Emma had a small birthday party with Uncle Morty, Aunt Beth, cousin Lisa and her two sons, Tristan and Logan, Cousins Laura and Sid, Cousins Howie and Jennifer and their boys, Jack and Max, Cheryl and Lew Geiger, and the Marcus crew. It was so nice to see everyone. Clara and Emma warmed up to everyone fairly quickly and enjoyed reading books, eating food and of course, cake. Everyone got a kick out of Emma's face when she saw the cake coming- she turned around and had a huge bright smile. And, Clara, sat with Daddy pointing at the cake. The gals got to hear "happy birthday" twice, because everyone sang it when the cake came in, but then Mommy didn't know where to put it. Oh well, there are two birthday girls anyhow! Clara and Emma were very excited to blow out the candles! After cake, it was really nice to watch all of the little kids playing together. As Grandpa Frome said to cousin Howard and Mommy, "it is kind of neat to watch the next generation."

Clara and Emma loved all the great books, toys and clothes, but they enjoyed playing with their twin "dollies," as they say. Thanks, Uncle Morty and Aunt Beth!!
