Clara made it today mostly healthy, thanks to an extended dose of antibiotics. Mommy and Daddy took Clara and headed to Mt. Sinai in NYC (where Clara and Emma were born) at 6:15 a.m.
Clara enjoyed coloring with princess crayons in her princess coloring book in the waiting room and was kind enough to share with two other kids waiting. She most enjoyed the company of a 5 year old girl, also getting tubes. They marched to the elevator together holding hands and were most excited that they both were getting tubes. It helped pass the time and was nice to see the kids having fun before their surgeries. Clara loved that she got a blue bracelet with her name on it (which she won't take off because she claims she must show her teachers), a blue hat and that Mommy and Daddy got to wear white "marshmallow outfits."
The procedure was very short and Clara woke up a little groggy and with some ear pain, but in good spirits once she had an apple juice and some cereal. Clara enjoyed a croissant on the way home too.
She took a nice long nap while Emma went to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Frome and rested on the couch with Grandma. The deer have come back to the house and can be seen everyday in the back. Mommy took Emma to her therapies with Grandma and picked up chinese food for the gang.
Grandma did some busy bee with Clara and Emma (some shtick she came up with a few years ago).
Crossing fingers and hoping this is the last time Clara will need tubes and that the third time is in fact, the charm.
