The Rest Ave. Playdate Crew

Ice storm. Check. No school. Check. Daddy at work. Check. Boo Boo for Mommy. Check. Leak in house. Check. Baked. Check. Neighborhood playdate. Check. Arts and Crafts. Check. Making the bathroom a swimming pool. Check.

Today was the second day in a row that Clara and Emma were home from school. Clara didn't like that Mommy opened the drawer with the long sleeve shirts and slammed it on Mommy's hand. Mommy was in some pain and Emma came over, said "I'll get you ice," came back and gave Mommy the ice and followed up with "do you need a paper towel for the ice?" Mommy is okay and those child locks on the drawers are clearly useless.

The ladies baked brownies in the morning and then headed to the Konig home for a playdate with several other families on the block. Pizza and playdough were a huge hit and the kids (and parents) all had a great time. Go Rest Ave!

Mommy let Clara and Emma scream but they did fall asleep fairly quickly. They were both so tired! After their nap, Clara and Emma used food coloring and water to make colorful ice cubes that they'll paint with later this week, made cotton ball "snow" projects, and then painted wood lizards.

Tonight, Mommy gave the ladies a bath and went to get towels. When Mommy returned, Emma was dumping water out of the bath and wouldn't stop- despite Mommy's demands. There was a mini flood on the floor that required several towels to sop up. Emma thought it was funny and shared that she "just wanted to make a swimming pool for summer." Awesome.

After being cooped up in the house for two days, Clara and Emma are very excited to return to school in the morning.
