This Week in the 3's
On Monday we had music with Marcy. She reviewed the musical terms vivace, lento, piano, and forte using hand movements. The children had a wonderful time creating a marching band with tick-tocks, claves and wood blocks. Lauren read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and had the children create their own caterpillars using using pre cut circles and magic markers.
Thursday, after being home snowed in for two days, we provided the children with a table full of shaving cream "snow" for playing in. Everyone enjoyed this tactile activity.
Nancy read the book I like Me and lead the children in some of our winter poems and our 5 Snowmen Big and Fat song/ game.
Friday the children helped to make healthy mini muffins using Raisin Bran. They enjoyed seeing and adding all the dry and then wet ingredients. They especially loved smelling the mixture and guessing what the cooked muffins would taste like. Friday also provided some of our budding performers the opportunity to sing their favorite song in front of the class.
Gina had the children take turns "reading" one of our favorite and often read books, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow. Gina also invented several songs and games with our class this week.
Be sure to check out our snowpeople bulletin board at the end of the hall.
We look forward to another wonderful week with your children.
Nancy, Gina, and Lauren
