A Make Up Day

Lesson learned. Kids can take the literal meaning of something and it usually isn't what you meant. Take this morning for instance. Mommy announced that they had another snow day but that they'd get a make up day (ie a day to make up for this day). Both jumped up, ran in the kitchen and screamed "make up!" Then they proceeded to sit down and put make up on and had no interest in taking it off. What a way to start yet another snow day (or in this case, ice day).

Mommy hosted a late morning playdate for some neighbors. It was great for the kids to play Hulabaloo, dress up and make pizza together. It was a no nap day (after Emma protested and Clara just followed along) and the kids were super tired and cranky. Lots of not listening and acting out made the snow day afternoon lots less fun.

Since it is probable that there will be no school again on Wednesday, Mommy will be planning a full day of scheduled activities to keep Clara and Emma entertained.

Is it spring yet?
