Circus!

This morning, after a bit of a rough night with the kids, Mommy took the ladies to the Westchester County Center for the Royal Hanneford Circus.

Cranky to start, Mommy got there early for close parking, knowing that Emma would demand to be carried and that it was windy. Best choice ever! Clowns were standing at the entrance and both started crying and screaming. Mommy carried them both at the same time to the bathrooom and talked about how clowns are just people with makeup-just like face paint. Mommy suggested that they looked silly and that seemed to calm the fears down.

Clara and Emma were both able to stand and see the acts like the tiger jumping through fire, the aerialists, juggling acts, motorcycle tricks and the baby elephant. They kept saying "wow- did you see that?!"

Mommy still doesn't understand why these shows have intermission. Oh, yes, they need to sell things like balloons and light sticks. The kids started to melt down and Mommy decided it was time to go. Emma really wanted a photo with the elephant, and Clara went with Mommy holding her and everyone smiled!  Good for an hour at this age but more than that would have been too much.'
