Snowstorm

Today was a really fun day. Okay, so Mommy loves snowstorms (like Grandpa Frome) and eagerly awoke and was excited to see snow on the ground - not like last Saturday when there was not a single flake. And, it snowed and snowed all day. Daddy's office was closed, so he was home with his gals. The tv wasn't even on most of the day!

A great thing about Ardsley is that the plows come frequently and the streets looked pretty good. Of course, where Grandma and Grandpa Frome live, the same can't be said, as they got another snowstorm to add to the 30 + inched they got over the weekend. Their plows were stopped because it was too dangerous for them to be on the road, so the Gornstein gang feels lucky!

After breakfast, Clara and Emma opened their Valentine's Day gift from Grandma and Grandpa Gornstein, new sleeping bags. Of course, they had an immediate "sleepover party." It featured flashlights and "ghost stories."

Mommy made the ladies smoothies for the first time. And, Clara and Emma were eager to help by peeling the bananas. They were a hit. Clara and Emma saw a "commercial" which was for smoothies and Fresh Beat Band straws. It showed how to make fresh, healthy smoothies with yogurt, milk, juice and fruit, so they were prepared and the only thing missing was the Fresh Beat Band straws.

After bundling up, it was off for the first adventure of the day outside. Clara and Emma both did some snowangels, but really liked throwing snowballs more. They also enjoyed seeing the plow come through.

The gals came in and it was time to bake cookies! Mommy melted the butter too much and the chocolate melted, so the chocolate chip cookies looked like chocolate cookies- but they were still yummy.

After their nap, Mommy and Daddy took the ladies outside again. Clara and Emma helped shovel and tried to build their first snowman with Mommy (note: Mommy needs lessons). They also liked catching the snowflakes with their tounges.

By the time they got inside, it was already 4:30, so Mommy and Daddy turned on some Dora. Daddy asked Emma and Clara what the name of the animal on the tv was (it was penguin). And, both responded "penguino," the spanish word for penguin.

For dinner, Mommy tried a new idea, tacos (Mommy made Daddy Sloppy Joe's). They loved piling the toppings on their tacos!

Clara complained about her ear hurting again and didn't eat too much, but the ladies got a dessert tonight- pudding- and both enjoyed it.

After a taco dinner, pudding and watermelon- much of it was all over the girls and the floor- a bath was needed. Clara sang and sang and sang.

It was a really awesome day!
