The Paper Bag Princess Prevails

Clara and Emma had a great day at school. They had their Dentist visit the class today (she happens to have a son at the school) and they were very excited with their goodie bag.

This afternoon, after Emma begged for a "sleepover party" and held one with Clara, they found some pink and purple pipe cleaners. Mommy took them out of the bag so they could play. Soon, Clara walked up to Mommy and said "flowers." Very cute.

Clara and Emma bounced on Mommy and had some fun doing nose kissing- with two little noses up against Mommy's. Doesn't get better than that.

Mommy read some books today including "The Paper Bag Princess." Emma noted that the character wasn't a princess because she wasn't dressed up. Ummm... hello... great teaching moment. Mommy enjoyed explaining that one doesn't have to be dressed up to be a princess etc. Pretty cool.

Daddy got home to spend some time with Clara and Emma. They were reading the book about "Things that Go," and saw a plane that led to a discussion about Argentina, and somehow, how much the kids liked the ice cream there. This is what Mommy overheard: Emma said " I like pink." Obviously, she means strawberry. Clara said " I like chocolate." This is no surprise. Emma then said "I like chocolate too." It should be noted that Emma says "chocolate" with a very "NY accent."

Clara and Emma also enjoyed Daddy's reading of Fancy Nancy's Valentine Day and learned the word "magnifique." They wanted to read the Fancy Nancy Halloween book until this one came in the house, so it looks like this will be around for some time.
