Father's Day Celebrations

It was a very busy weeked full of celebrations for Daddy's first Father's Day!

Saturday, the Clara and Emma drove with Mommy and Daddy to Long Island to Uncle Ilan and Aunt Sara's house. It was so much fun playing with cousins. Cousin Andrew (almost 5) loves to play with Clara and Emma. He showed them his playstation (which they both liked and tried to take away), wrestled very gently and helped them out. The girls enjoyed the chicken and sweet potato from the BBQ. It was a great time. The drive home was very rainy, and the last ten minutes, Mommy wanted to close her eyes because it was really awful, but Daddy got everyone home safely. Daddy and Mommy came up with a plan to get the girls out of the car- Daddy parked close to the garage and ran up the stairs to get the umbrella and open the garage door. He came out with the umbrella and Mommy got Clara out and then Daddy got Emma out- and everyone was dry. Clara and Emma went right back to sleep.

Sunday was also full of fun. Mommy and Daddy took Clara and Emma to the Riviera Bakery after their nap to buy some sweet treats for Daddy. He got a banana cream pie (reviews: "very good" says Daddy. Mommy even tried some!). After the bakery, Mommy and Daddy decided to check out Star Bagels, which some friends had suggested. Clara and Emma made friends with the other people at the place as they enjoyed their puffs and grilled cheese. After giving them the bottle at home, they played for a bit- Emma enjoyed bouncing in the exersaucer and Clara cruised around the couch trying to get the newspaper. The tired themselves out and they took a nice nap. After a new snack of rice cakes and dried apples, Aunt Alyssa and Michael came for a visit. Mommy, Aunt Alyssa and Michael took a walk around the village and then stopped by the swings, while Daddy watched a bit of soccer and got the grill ready. The girls enjoyed playing with their sippy cup. After calls to all the relatives to wish them a Happy Father's Day, Clara and Emma enjoyed their dinner outside with everyone, before making sure that Mommy and Daddy knew it was their bedtime.
