Mommy has been struggling with some aspects of disciplining Clara and Emma. Of couse, they are 3.5 years old and have many of the typical and expected behaviors. But, there are two of them. So, after some consultations with friends and the school consultant, Mommy bought two responsibility charts.
Mommy said they were "presents" and Clara and Emma loved opening them up. Then, with Mommy, they helped picked the things that they could get rewards (magnets), like getting dressed or brushing their teeth.
So far, it is working. Emma was whining and Mommy looked at her and said "the chart says" and Emma responded, "no whining" and stopped. And, when Clara was crying, Emma said "uh, Mommy, the chart says no crying. Clara, don't cry, you won't get your magnet."
Plus, there are two other charts now in the house. One for line leader- which eventually will become a job chart and the other for Clara getting her drops and Emma poopin. Daddy thinks Mommy is nuts, but somethings need to be reigned in!
