Week of February 28th- March 4th
Here is the weekly update. Clara and Emma were out on Monday as they were flying back from Houston.
Welcome back from vacation! All of the children entered the classroom happy and ready to play.
"On Monday we had music with Marcy where we began singing Purim songs including "Five Little Hamantaschen" Marcy continued to reinforce music terms with singing and marching.
Gina continues to teach the five senses through reading stories and asking the children to identify which sense the are using. On Tuesday at the science table, Gina provided the children with a sensory experience using "oobleck" that she made for them to play with.
Thursday the children used their sense of touch to create three dimensional finger paintings using rice, beans and sand. You can find these paintings displayed in the hall when you first walk into the building.
Friday the children continued learning about their sense of the touch and hearing. Gina had the children guess different items in a mystery box using only their senses of touch and hearing.
Lauren has a number of art projects planned to use for our Purim celebration on March 21st. We will be making hand puppets, masks and groggers. We are also reading Purim stories to the children. We started with A Costume For Noah.
Nancy will also be introducing the upcoming season Spring in stories, art and song.
Thanks to Arin Gornstein for providing snack all week and joining us for our Shabbat Celebration
Shabbat Shalom,
Nancy, Gina, and Lauren"
