Twin Ears

Mommy's post on Facebook today sums it up "Correlation between ear infections and twins? If there is a research study, sign us up- second time this year. Oh, and I mean both of them last nite. Yep, really."

Just when you think more is impossible and that nothing else can happen, well, it does.

When Mommy went to pick Emma up, her teacher mentioned that Emma had complained about her ear hurting. Mommy took a deep breath and took Emma straight to the doctor. And, yes, Emma had an ear infection. It wasn't raging, but given Emma's recent history with painful ear infections, the doctor gave her a prescription and suggested that she wait it out a day or so to see if it could just heal. For fun, he looked at Clara's ears and said outside of the ear that is STILL draining from last week, everything looked good.

Until 3 am. When Clara screamed her ear was hurting. And kept crying and screaming. Emma was already in Mommy and Daddy's bed because of her ear and belly hurting. By early morning, the other ear was draining to and Clara was the proud owner of a double ear infection and both were in bed with Mommy and Daddy. So much for sleep.

Because they didn't have fevers and even though they were tired, Mommy took the ladies to school and they had a good day. They came home after school instead of going to their Tuesday class. Clara took a very long nap and Emma rested. Thank goodness the babysitter came to help today.
