Yesterday was a very rainy, dreary day. Clara had speech in the morning, but they both were a bit "off."
This morning, Clara said "Emma's puppy," referring to the puppy that was in Emma's crib that she wanted. It should be noted that of course, she had her very own puppy, but she also need Emma's.
At camp, Clara and Emma enjoyed playing with peg puzzles. They had music and their favorite part is when the shakers come out. Clara and Emma both drank from the little cups of water with no help and only a little spillage of water. Mommy does need to remind them to use two hands, but they are getting the hang of it. Emma tried the clementine, but just sucked on the pieces and Clara wasn't at all interested.
After their nap, Mommy took the gals to Memorial Park in Dobbs to welcome some moms that were joining the newest addition to The Rivertown Play Group programming, a playdate in the park for parents with kids ages 0-9 months. Clara and Emma navigated the equipment better than they had before, as they are older now. They also enjoyed playing with some of the older kids- in fact, they were all sitting on the equipment and Emma sat down right next to them and tried to take part in the conversation. Mommy took the gals to Great Play to say hi to the staff on the way to Lakeshore to do some gift buying for some upcoming parties.
When Clara and Emma arrived home, Mommy brought them in for a little tv before dinner. Mommy knew they were watching in Mommy and Daddy's room and was convinced the gates were all locked. Mommy got the bag from the car and came back to find only Emma enjoying Toot and Puddle. Mommy started saying Clara's name and looking around- even under the new dining room table. No Clara. Mommy saw the gate to the lower level open and started down the stairs. And, there was Clara, with a HUGE grin on her face and giggling as Mommy picked her up. At least Mommy and Daddy know that Clara can navigate stairs by herself.
Earlier today, the dining room furniture arrived. Here are some photos:
