Meeting Animals

The ladies went to camp today and after playing with puzzles, got to meet some friendly animals. Emma would look at the animals and say "wow" but when they came by and she had the opportunity to touch them, she wanted nothing to do with it. Mommy sort of suspected that would be the case as Emma is often scared by new experiences like this. Mommy thought Clara might enjoy it, and Mommy even touched the centipede, hoping that Clara would, but no go. Mommy also thought that they might try touching the sticky frog- especially since this type of frog is in one of their books. Clara let the frog go on her hand and it even jumped to her chest and she was okay with it. And, with the turtle, Clara touched him once but didn't show more interest. At the end, they asked Emma what animal she liked so they could bring it next time so she'd have the experience of touching it. Emma said that she liked dogs, but the teaches said they didn't have dogs. Then she said snakes (she actually sleeps with the Lamaze snake she had as a baby). This should be interesting.

Clara and Emma have the best snack at camp. Today was watermelon and muffins. Emma ate the watermelon and spit it out- which she has been doing with apples and pears too. This has been going on for a few weeks. Again, both ladies loved playing outside. Clara tried to use a cup to water things- she would go to the pool and fill a cup with water and walk around and pour it on things. Emma liked running through the sprinkler. And, they both liked pushing the bike go round instead of riding it.

Mommy was happy the ladies took a nap, as the past few days their naps haven't been great. Emma wanted to read her new favorite book of the week, "Daddy Loves Me" over and over again. At lease she is learning words like "saw" and "nails" -the book is about a Daddy building a dog house. In the afternoon, the gang headed over to Amanda and Jacob's house for a playdate. It was lots of fun as Clara and Emma played with Jacob in the kitchen and with his train set. On the way home, Emma coughed and Mommy asked if she was okay. Response: "Yes, I'm Fine." Yet again, Mommy can't make this up.

Dinner was another adventure as the ladies took their milk and poured it out on themselves and the table. Mommy needs a solution to this mess!
